ControlCase has acquired CyberNINES, a well-known cybersecurity assessment and advisory firm specializing in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). With this strategic move, both organizations aim to enhance their capabilities in supporting federal contractors and suppliers as they navigate increasingly complex cybersecurity and compliance requirements. As a result, the combined entity is positioned to deliver more comprehensive solutions across the federal compliance landscape.

Notably, this acquisition comes at a time when organizations within the Defense Industrial Base are facing mounting pressure to meet stringent cybersecurity standards, particularly those outlined in the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). Therefore, by joining forces, ControlCase and CyberNINES intend to provide end-to-end support, helping businesses achieve certification while strengthening their overall cybersecurity posture.

“CyberNINES has proven to be the leader in CMMC expertise and was critical in our company achieving Level 2 certification. CyberNINES, combining with ControlCase, will deliver exactly the kind of expertise and global scale companies like ours need to meet CMMC requirements and stay competitive in the federal marketplace,” said Dave Bullis, IT Cybersecurity Compliance Manager at Weston Solutions, Inc.

Furthermore, the acquisition integrates CyberNINES’ deep CMMC expertise with ControlCase’s extensive global reach and experience in delivering compliance programs across multiple regulatory frameworks. These frameworks include CMMC, FedRAMP, and more than 100 additional standards. Consequently, the combined organization is now positioned as a leading global provider of federal compliance services.

“Together, ControlCase and CyberNINES are better and stronger – combining CMMC expertise with a full suite of compliance solutions and global reach to help organizations achieve certification, maintain compliance, and protect critical information,” said Mike Jenner, CEO, ControlCase.

In addition, the unified organization will assist companies across the Defense Industrial Base in preparing for CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) Level 2 assessments. At the same time, it will support the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and ensure the implementation of robust cybersecurity and compliance programs.

Moreover, the combined capabilities enable support across the entire lifecycle of federal cybersecurity compliance for Organizations Seeking Certification (OSCs). This includes certification assessments led by C3PAOs, mock assessments, readiness and advisory services such as gap analysis, as well as ongoing compliance and risk management programs. Importantly, all services will be delivered with a strict separation between assessment and consulting functions, ensuring integrity and compliance with regulatory expectations.

“As cybersecurity expectations intensify across the Defense Industrial Base, organizations need a partner with the expertise, scale, and credibility to deliver across the full compliance lifecycle,” said Mike Jenner, Chief Executive Officer of ControlCase. “Together, ControlCase and CyberNINES are better and stronger – combining CMMC expertise with a full suite of compliance solutions, and global reach to help organizations achieve certification, maintain compliance, and protect critical information.”

Meanwhile, CyberNINES has established a strong reputation within the federal cybersecurity community for helping contractors improve their security posture and adapt to evolving CMMC requirements. This reputation further strengthens the combined organization’s value proposition.

“Organizations across the Defense Industrial Base face rapidly increasing cybersecurity demands and need to demonstrate measurable maturity,” said Scott Singer, Chief Executive Officer of CyberNINES and Chair of the CyberAB’s C3PAO Advisory Council. “By joining forces with ControlCase, we are bringing together highly complementary strengths to deliver end-to-end support across the entire compliance lifecycle, from readiness through certification and most importantly, to continue protecting those who protect us.”

Additionally, Scott Singer will take on the role of Federal President at ControlCase, where he will lead the global expansion of the company’s Federal Division. Leveraging his expertise in the Defense Industrial Base and the CMMC ecosystem, he will guide the integrated team and help improve compliance outcomes across the federal supply chain.

Backed by hundreds of cybersecurity professionals, decades of federal compliance experience, thousands of completed assessments, and a vast partner ecosystem, the combined organization is well-equipped to address global compliance challenges. Ultimately, this acquisition strengthens cybersecurity maturity, reduces supply chain risks, protects sensitive data, and ensures organizations remain eligible for critical government contracts.
