PDQ has introduced a fresh set of updates aimed at helping IT teams improve visibility, streamline organization, and accelerate workflows—without adding unnecessary complexity. With these enhancements, the company focuses on empowering teams to standardize software environments, manage deployments efficiently, and take quicker action when issues arise.

To begin with, PDQ rolled out several new features designed to simplify IT operations. These include a new PowerShell Scanner, a Software tab for fleet-wide visibility, folder-based package organization, and an expanded Package Library with over 500 ready-to-deploy packages. Additionally, the platform now integrates with tools like Zapier, Freshworks, and Jira, while also introducing a more accessible in-product Help menu.

“IT teams need visibility and control, but they also need tools that don’t slow them down,” said Mark Littlefield, VP of Product at PDQ. “This release is all about helping teams see what matters, stay organized as their environments grow, and move from insight to action faster.”

PowerShell Scanner Strengthens Custom Inventory

Notably, PDQ Connect now includes a PowerShell Scanner, offering IT administrators a flexible way to collect custom device data. Users can either write scripts directly within the console or upload a .ps1 file, validate it on a test device, and apply the results across reporting, filtering, and automation processes. As a result, teams gain a scalable method to track critical system, application, and configuration data tailored to their environment.

Improved Fleet-Wide Software Visibility

Furthermore, the newly introduced Software tab provides a centralized view of installed applications across an entire device fleet. This allows IT teams to quickly identify outdated, missing, or vulnerable software. Instead of manually building reports, administrators can now pinpoint issues and deploy updates in just a few clicks—saving both time and effort.

Expanded Package Library Boosts Efficiency

In addition, PDQ significantly expanded its Package Library to include more than 500 ready-to-deploy packages. Each package undergoes validation, testing, and maintenance before reaching users. Consequently, IT teams can reduce the time spent creating packages and focus more on deploying critical software where it is needed most.

Enhanced Deployment Insights on the Way

Looking ahead, PDQ plans to introduce advanced deployment visibility features. These upcoming enhancements will provide deeper insights into deployment activities, enabling teams to understand outcomes more clearly and respond faster to potential issues.

Seamless Integrations for Better Workflows

Meanwhile, the new integrations with Zapier, Freshworks, and Jira allow PDQ Connect to fit seamlessly into existing IT workflows. Whether triggering deployments through business processes or acting directly from a support ticket, teams can now operate more efficiently within familiar systems.

Centralized Help and Documentation Access

To further improve user experience, PDQ added a new in-product Help menu. This feature consolidates documentation search, release notes, system status updates, and community resources into one convenient location. Users can also leverage “Ask our Docs” to receive step-by-step guidance sourced directly from PDQ’s knowledge base.

Organized Package Management with Foldering

Finally, PDQ addressed the growing challenge of managing large deployment libraries by introducing folder-based organization within the Packages tab. With both preset categories and customizable folders, teams can maintain a clean and structured environment, reducing reliance on naming conventions and improving scalability over time.
