Druva has announced a major expansion of its data security platform by adding support for Microsoft Power Platform, marking a significant step toward protecting modern, AI-driven business environments. The rollout begins with support for Microsoft Power BI, a widely used analytics solution that plays a critical role in reporting, operational visibility, and decision-making across organizations.

As companies increasingly adopt AI and low-code tools to streamline workflows and generate insights, platforms like Microsoft Power Platform have become deeply embedded in daily operations. However, this growing reliance also introduces new risks. Automated processes, if misconfigured or compromised, can lead to corrupted data, unintended changes, or even loss of critical business insights. Druva’s latest update is designed to tackle these challenges by offering cloud-native protection and recovery capabilities tailored specifically for these environments.

Stephen Manley, CTO at Druva, emphasized that as AI adoption accelerates, resilience becomes just as important as innovation. By extending visibility and recovery capabilities to Power BI, Druva aims to help organizations safeguard their data without slowing down progress or experimentation.

This new integration builds on Druva’s existing ecosystem support, which already includes services like Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Dynamics 365. With this expansion, businesses can now manage protection across multiple Microsoft services through a unified, cloud-native platform, simplifying operations while improving security.

A key strength of the solution lies in its ability to protect not just data, but also the structure and relationships behind it. By preserving metadata and configurations, Druva ensures that recovered Power BI dashboards and reports remain fully functional and meaningful. This capability is powered in part by its graph-based intelligence layer, which helps organizations understand dependencies, analyze risks, and respond more effectively to incidents.

Industry experts highlight the importance of this move, noting that Power BI has become essential for tracking performance and guiding strategic decisions. Any disruption to these systems can have serious business consequences, making reliable backup and recovery solutions increasingly critical.

With support for Power BI now generally available and plans to extend coverage to Power Apps and Power Automate later this year, Druva is positioning itself to address the evolving security needs of enterprises operating in AI-powered, data-driven environments.
