Netskope has strengthened its strategic collaboration with Google Cloud to expand the capabilities of its AI Guardrails solution, a security offering designed to protect generative AI systems and autonomous agents operating within cloud environments.
As enterprises accelerate investments in artificial intelligence, the need for robust governance has become more urgent. Consequently, this expanded partnership arrives at a critical time when organizations are rapidly transitioning from basic chatbot applications to more advanced AI agents capable of executing tasks, interacting with external tools, and making semi-autonomous decisions. While this evolution unlocks new efficiencies, it also introduces significant security complexities.
To address these challenges, Netskope has integrated its AI Guardrails directly into Google Cloud environments. This ensures that prompts and responses are analyzed locally, thereby reducing the need to transmit sensitive data outside the tenant. As a result, businesses gain tighter control over their data while simultaneously aligning with compliance requirements and regional data regulations.
Moreover, the system performs continuous, real-time monitoring across various risk categories, including harmful content, sensitive data exposure, and malicious activity. It also evaluates how AI agents interact with connected tools, enabling it to detect indirect prompt injection attempts and other subtle manipulation techniques. In addition, Netskope has designed the platform to identify emerging threats such as prompt injection, jailbreaking, recursive loops, and hidden command exploits that could compromise system integrity or drain resources.
Importantly, Netskope aligns its detection framework with globally recognized standards like MITRE ATLAS and OWASP Top 10 risks for large language models. This alignment helps organizations systematically track, assess, and mitigate AI-related risks while maintaining audit-ready documentation.
Furthermore, the company has emphasized compliance with major regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, and evolving AI governance policies like the EU AI Act. Given that enterprises increasingly rely on AI systems to process customer and proprietary data, maintaining regulatory compliance has become a top priority.
On the infrastructure side, Google Cloud plays a pivotal role by providing advanced computing power through Tensor Processing Units and enabling real-time moderation via Vertex AI. This integration ensures that security checks operate at the same speed as AI models, minimizing latency while maintaining performance.
Vineet Bhan, Director of Security and Identity Partnerships at Google, commented on the arrangement.
“Netskope and Google Cloud’s collaboration helps bring the best of AI innovation from Google Cloud and enterprise security from Netskope,” Bhan said. “Netskope One AI Guardrails works with Vertex AI and TPUs to enable the secure deployment of both generative AI and autonomous agents. Together, we are helping organisations build the future of their business on a foundation of trust.”
At the same time, Netskope positions this solution as a core component of its broader AI security portfolio, which spans applications, models, users, devices, and data across distributed environments.
Sanjay Beri, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Netskope, added:
“As a global leader in AI-ready security and networking, Netskope provides critical capabilities required for the safe, high-performance adoption of modern AI workflows,” said Sanjay Beri. “We are proud to collaborate with Google Cloud to help ensure that customers can confidently pursue their AI goals.”
Ultimately, this expanded partnership reflects a growing industry shift toward embedding security directly into AI infrastructure, ensuring that innovation progresses alongside trust and compliance.
