Team Cymru has announced the general availability of its Pure Signal MCP Server, introducing what it calls the first production-grade Model Context Protocol (MCP) server purpose-built for threat intelligence. With this launch, the company enables seamless integration between AI agents and its Pure Signal platform, widely recognized as one of the largest threat intelligence data ecosystems globally.
Notably, the server connects directly with MCP-compatible AI agents, including Claude, Microsoft Security Copilot, Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot, and custom-built agents. As cybersecurity teams increasingly rely on AI to automate alert triage, accelerate threat hunting, and orchestrate incident response, the need for real-time, high-quality intelligence has become critical. In fact, industry forecasts suggest that AI agents will become the primary consumers of threat intelligence within the next 18 to 24 months. Therefore, adopting standardized frameworks like MCP originally introduced by Anthropic has quickly become essential, especially as major technology providers such as Microsoft, Google, and Anthropic continue to support it.
“Your AI agents are only as good as the data they can reach. We built the Pure Signal MCP Server from the ground up so the world’s most capable security agents can reason directly over the world’s most comprehensive view of the internet,” said Mike Barry, VP of Engineering at Team Cymru. “This isn’t a retrofitted API it’s an LLM-native intelligence interface that has been live, refined, and trusted in production for months,”
Unlike traditional approaches, Team Cymru has designed its MCP server to go beyond acting as a simple wrapper over existing APIs. Instead, it integrates directly into the company’s API ecosystem while adding purpose-built processing layers. As a result, the platform delivers concise, context-rich, and token-efficient responses, allowing AI agents to focus more on reasoning about threats rather than parsing raw data.
Through a single MCP connection, organizations can access a wide range of intelligence capabilities. For instance, users can perform detailed IP and domain lookups, analyze NetFlow communication patterns, and explore Passive DNS (PDNS) data to uncover infrastructure relationships. Additionally, the platform provides insights into X.509 certificates, WHOIS intelligence, and advanced querying through the Scout Query Language. Furthermore, built-in usage and quota management features ensure better governance and cost control.
Moreover, the Pure Signal MCP Server delivers value across multiple layers of cybersecurity operations. Security Operations Center (SOC) teams can significantly reduce investigation times by enabling AI-powered enrichment of threat indicators. At the same time, threat intelligence teams can deploy autonomous AI agents to conduct large-scale threat hunting across the global internet. Meanwhile, security engineers can integrate the platform into custom AI workflows and automated response pipelines without dealing with complex integrations.
In addition, managed security service providers (MSSPs) can leverage the platform to enhance their offerings with AI-driven intelligence while scaling operations efficiently. For CISOs and security leaders, the solution offers a clear pathway toward AI readiness, supported by robust, production-grade infrastructure.
“For twenty years, Team Cymru has helped the world’s most demanding security teams see what others can’t. Pure Signal MCP extends that mission into the agentic era,” said Mike Barry, VP of Engineering at Team Cymru. “Our customers’ AI agents now investigate, pivot, and reason over the same data that has powered government CERTs, global ISPs, and Fortune 500 SOCs at machine speed.”
