As organizations modernize physical security infrastructure, demand is rising for platforms that combine operational intelligence with flexible cloud deployment models.

Milestone Systems has announced major updates to its XProtect and Arcules platforms, introducing new capabilities designed to enhance security operations and expand cloud based video management. The XProtect 2026 R1 update strengthens system visibility, automation, and scalability while enabling organizations to better manage hybrid and cloud environments.

A central feature of the release is the expansion of XProtect Remote Manager, a browser based tool that transforms system data into actionable insights. The new functionality introduces automated and customizable reporting, allowing organizations to generate structured visual reports from technical metrics such as system health, performance, and maintenance activity. This shift reduces the manual effort traditionally required to compile reports and enables security teams to focus on proactive system management.

Andy Burnett, Chief Technology Officer at Milestone Systems, said, “XProtect 2026 R1 and the latest Arcules enhancements reflect two priorities central to where Milestone is headed: advancing our core platform to deliver greater operational intelligence and accelerating our cloud capabilities to give customers more flexible, scalable options for deploying and managing video security. These updates create tangible value for everyone in the ecosystem, from operators in the field to the partners and decision-makers who depend on clear insight into system performance.”

Beyond reporting, the XProtect 2026 R1 update introduces improvements across system administration and usability. A redesigned LogServer interface provides centralized visibility into system logs, improving troubleshooting efficiency across complex deployments. Additional updates include enhanced mobile client features and expanded device compatibility, with support now exceeding 16,300 devices following the addition of new integrations.

On the cloud side, Milestone continues to expand its video surveillance as a service offering through updates to Arcules. These enhancements extend camera to cloud capabilities, allowing supported multi sensor cameras to connect directly to the platform without requiring on premises hardware. This simplifies deployment and reduces infrastructure complexity, particularly for organizations seeking scalable cloud solutions.

Arcules also introduces long term cloud video storage, enabling secure archiving of surveillance data while maintaining searchability and accessibility. This feature supports compliance and investigative requirements without the need for physical storage systems. Additional improvements include faster real time camera control through updated APIs and enhanced mobile alerts that provide visual context for security events.

The XProtect 2026 R1 update reflects a broader industry trend toward integrated security platforms that combine on premises and cloud capabilities. As organizations balance operational efficiency with evolving security requirements, solutions that deliver automation, visibility, and scalability are becoming essential.

With these enhancements, Milestone Systems is positioning its platform to meet the needs of modern security environments, where data driven insights and flexible deployment options are critical to maintaining effective and resilient operations.
