Thales Launches Imperva for Google Cloud Security

Thales Launches Imperva for Google Cloud Security

As enterprises deepen their reliance on cloud infrastructure, application security is becoming a critical priority for protecting digital services and sensitive data across environments. Thales has announced the Controlled Availability of Imperva for Google Cloud, introducing its enterprise grade application security platform directly into Google Cloud. The new offering is designed to operate natively within Google Cloud, enabling organizations to secure web applications and APIs while maintaining existing pipelines, integrations, and monitoring workflows. By leveraging Google Cloud’s Service Extension traffic, the solution eliminates the need for external routing that can often introduce latency and operational complexity.

The launch of Imperva for Google Cloud comes at a time when enterprises are accelerating cloud adoption and standardizing on native cloud services to improve development speed and reduce infrastructure overhead. However, many traditional security solutions still depend on external traffic routing, which can disrupt performance and create friction between development and security teams. At the same time, native cloud security tools may not provide the depth required to safeguard mission critical applications at scale. Imperva for Google Cloud aims to bridge this gap by embedding robust protection directly into the cloud environment.

According to Tim Chang, Global Vice President and General Manager of Imperva Application Security at Thales, “Organizations shouldn’t have to choose between performance, simplicity, and protection. With Imperva for Google Cloud, security is part of the cloud infrastructure, delivering enterprise-grade protection without disrupting how applications are built and delivered.” His remarks underscore the company’s focus on integrating security seamlessly into modern development workflows.

Unlike conventional approaches that add protection after deployment, Imperva for Google Cloud is designed to integrate directly into cloud infrastructure. Built to align with Google Cloud’s native architecture, the platform enables scalable security that evolves alongside application development. It integrates with Google Cloud Load Balancing through Private Service Connect, ensuring that traffic remains within the cloud network while being inspected and protected in real time.

The platform introduces several capabilities aimed at simplifying operations and strengthening resilience. It allows deployment without requiring DNS changes, SSL management, or re architecture, enabling organizations to adopt security without disrupting existing systems. It also offers immediate protection with minimal tuning, supported by continuously updated threat intelligence. Its resilient design ensures there is no single point of failure, while an automation first approach supports API driven deployment and Terraform integration, reducing operational burden for both DevOps and security teams.

The announcement also highlights the long standing partnership between Thales and Google Cloud. Thales recently received a 2026 Google Cloud Partner of the Year Award in the Infrastructure Modernization Sovereign Cloud category, reflecting its contributions to innovation and customer success. As data sovereignty and regulatory compliance become increasingly important, the collaboration is focused on helping enterprises secure hybrid and multi cloud environments without sacrificing control.

With Imperva for Google Cloud, Imperva is positioned as a key enabler of secure cloud transformation. The launch signals a broader shift toward integrated security models that align with modern cloud architectures, allowing organizations to innovate faster while maintaining the protection required for critical digital operations.
