A significant milestone has been reached by Gomboc AI, as $13 million in seed-stage funding has been secured to revolutionize cloud security remediations. The latest investment of $8 million has been led by Ballistic Ventures, with continued backing from Glilot Capital Partners and Hetz Ventures, who had previously co-led the company’s initial $5 million seed round. This funding is expected to accelerate Gomboc AI’s mission to address the persistent security backlog that often hinders critical business transformations.

A Solution Born from Experience

The inception of Gomboc AI was driven by real-world frustrations and challenges. The company was founded by Ian Amit, a former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), who had been responsible for securing 15 businesses under one corporate entity. Overwhelmed by an endless influx of tickets and lengthy vulnerability reports, Amit began questioning the status quo.

“The security industry has been flooded with alerts, yet a fundamental solution to efficiently remediate issues has remained elusive,” Amit shared. “I started wondering—what if backlogs and tickets could be eliminated altogether? What if inefficiencies didn’t have to be accepted as the norm?”

With the goal of transforming weeks or months of manual security fixes into a matter of minutes, Amit, alongside Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Matthew Sweeney, developed a deterministic AI engine. Unlike traditional tools that merely identify security vulnerabilities, this AI-powered solution has been designed to fix them.

A New Approach to Cloud Security Remediation

Unlike existing cloud security products that depend on signatures, rigid templates, or generative AI, Gomboc AI has been built with a patent-pending deterministic AI engine. While generative AI can introduce variability and unpredictability, a deterministic approach ensures that security fixes remain consistent, repeatable, and contextual. Seamless integration with cloud infrastructure is enabled through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), allowing organizations to remediate misconfigurations without sacrificing functionality or agility.

Amit emphasized the distinct advantage of this technology: “Many tools highlight security issues, but very few resolve them at their core. Gomboc AI eliminates backlogs, reduces Mean Time To Remediate (MTTR) from months to minutes, and enables security and DevOps teams to focus on higher-value initiatives.”

Key Benefits of Gomboc AI

  • Providing Real Fixes, Not Just Alerts – Unlike conventional security tools that only flag misconfigurations, Gomboc AI generates accurate, context-aware code-level changes using IaC while ensuring the environment’s stability.
  • Eliminating Security Backlogs – By significantly reducing or even preventing the flood of issues generated by Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools, Gomboc AI minimizes the overwhelming volume of security tickets.
  • Policy-Driven and Developer-Friendly – Built on a simple policy framework aligned with industry standards such as NIST CSF and CIS, Gomboc AI tailors its remediations to each organization’s unique environment. Every change requires DevOps approval, and scanning triggers can be configured to run within DevOps pipelines.
  • No Dependence on Generative AI – By focusing solely on deterministic AI, Gomboc AI differentiates itself from other solutions that rely on generative models or rigid templates, ensuring accuracy without requiring customer data for model training.

Industry Experts Weigh In

Roger Thornton, Co-founder and General Partner at Ballistic Ventures, expressed strong confidence in the company’s future: “Gomboc AI is addressing a universal challenge—turning an overwhelming security-ticket backlog into an automated, policy-driven remediation process. This is a game-changer for security and DevSecOps teams, allowing them to work together more efficiently and effectively. We are excited to support this visionary team.”

Kobi Samboursky, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Glilot Capital, echoed similar sentiments: “There’s been a lot of hype around AI in security, but few solutions truly deliver results. Gomboc AI stands out by deeply understanding code and security postures, solving issues with minimal noise. For any cybersecurity professional, this is an AI solution worth exploring.”

Pavel Livshiz, General Partner at Hetz Ventures, highlighted the growing need for automation in cybersecurity: “The industry is at a crucial turning point—threats are evolving faster than companies can hire and train security engineers. Gomboc AI is uniquely positioned to address this challenge by transforming security from a constant fire drill into a seamless, automated process. This funding underscores their rapid progress and strong market traction.”
