WatchGuard Technologies has partnered with HaloPSA to streamline security operations for managed service providers (MSPs). Through this collaboration, the companies have integrated WatchGuard Cloud directly into HaloPSA, enabling MSPs to manage security tasks more efficiently within a single platform.
With this integration, technicians no longer need to switch between multiple systems. Instead, they can access security events, device data, and licensing information directly within the PSA interface. As a result, MSPs can simplify key workflows such as ticketing, provisioning, and recurring billing. Moreover, the unified system helps reduce operational friction and improves overall service delivery.
Automation Enhances Workflow Efficiency
Additionally, the integration introduces automation capabilities that significantly enhance productivity. Security alerts and license updates can automatically trigger ticket creation, which reduces manual intervention. At the same time, asset and entitlement data help MSPs align contracts more accurately, improving billing precision.
According to WatchGuard, research from the Service Desk Institute indicates that automation can reduce ticket volumes by up to 30% on average. Therefore, MSPs can focus more on high-value tasks while minimizing repetitive processes.
PSA Platforms Become Central to MSP Operations
In recent years, PSA platforms have evolved into the operational backbone of MSPs. These systems now connect service desks, customer records, contracts, and billing processes. Consequently, integrations like this one play a crucial role in vendor selection decisions.
For security vendors, embedding their tools within PSA platforms ensures easier adoption and daily usability. Meanwhile, MSPs benefit from reduced manual work and fewer discrepancies between service delivery and billing records. This alignment ultimately leads to more consistent and reliable customer experiences.
Unified Security Management for MSPs
Through HaloPSA, MSPs can now manage WatchGuard’s full suite of security tools—including network, identity, endpoint, and managed detection and response—within a single agent. This unified approach allows technicians to access relevant data and context in one place, where they already handle operational tasks.
As a result, MSPs can reduce dependency on separate tools and ensure consistent service delivery across multiple customer accounts. The integration also strengthens operational efficiency while supporting scalability.
Industry Leaders Share Their Perspective
“MSPs need security operations that fit the way they work, inside the PSA, with accurate context and minimal manual effort,” said Ben Oster, Vice President of Product Development, WatchGuard.
“Our relationship with Halo means MSPs move faster and offer stronger security with WatchGuard embedded inside the PSA they love,” added Oster.
“Halo MSPs now have a more powerful way to capture the cybersecurity opportunity with access to WatchGuard’s full-stack platform,” said Alex Golden, Head of Product, HaloPSA.
“Together, Halo and WatchGuard make it easier for MSPs to broaden their security services and scale with less operational complexity,” added Golden.
Rising Market Demand Drives Integration Needs
Notably, MSPs are under increasing pressure to deliver advanced security services without significantly increasing costs or complexity. As customer demand for cybersecurity grows, service providers must manage multiple vendors, licensing structures, and support workflows more efficiently.
Therefore, PSA integration has become a critical factor in procurement decisions. MSPs now expect seamless connectivity between operational data, alerts, and billing systems to ensure smooth service management.
“MSPs face growing pressure to deliver security efficiently while managing operational complexity,” said Paul Stringfellow, Chief Technology Officer, Gardner Systems, and a GigaOm analyst.
“Integration with PSA platforms like HaloPSA is essential for the modern MSP to reduce manual effort, accelerate response times, and scale more effectively. As an MSP, when we evaluate vendors, their PSA integration capabilities are a primary consideration,” added Stringfellow.
With over 25,000 MSP partners serving more than 1.5 million customers worldwide, WatchGuard continues to expand its reach by focusing on tighter workflow integration and operational efficiency.
