Thoma Bravo’s leading cybersecurity portfolio companies to partner with Google Cloud to strengthen ability to identify and mitigate AI-enabled threats

Thoma Bravo has announced a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to help enterprise software companies fast-track their AI transformation journeys. Through this collaboration, Thoma Bravo’s portfolio companies will gain direct access to advanced AI tools, engineering expertise, and expanded go-to-market opportunities, enabling them to build next-generation AI-driven solutions.

As part of the partnership, portfolio companies will benefit from streamlined access to Google Cloud’s AI ecosystem, including its Gemini models and the Gemini Enterprise platform designed for agentic AI. In addition, Google will provide forward-deployed engineering teams to help solve complex technical challenges and accelerate implementation. Furthermore, companies will gain new distribution channels through Google Cloud Marketplace and co-sell programs, allowing them to scale their offerings more effectively.

“This partnership will allow our portfolio companies to rapidly implement leading AI technology from Google Cloud, which will enable our companies to build and deliver the most innovative AI solutions for their customers,” said Orlando Bravo, a Founder and Managing Partner at Thoma Bravo. “Through our partnership with Google, our portfolio companies will be in position to build the next generation of AI solutions for nearly every process, function, and industry across enterprises including human capital management, interconnected planning, procurement, aviation, manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, real estate, and almost every segment across cybersecurity solutions.”

As enterprises increasingly adopt AI, the shift toward agentic AI systems capable of autonomous decision-making is becoming more prominent. Consequently, software providers must integrate AI deeply into their platforms to remain competitive. This partnership directly addresses that need by embedding Google’s AI capabilities into the core product stacks of Thoma Bravo’s portfolio companies.

“Software firms have an opportunity to transform with AI, particularly as agentic AI becomes more capable and autonomous,” said Karthik Narain, Chief Product and Business Officer at Google Cloud. “Through this partnership, Thoma Bravo’s portfolio of enterprise software providers will deeply embed Google’s leading AI models and Agent Platform into the core of their product stacks. With hands-on support from our engineers, they are positioned to transition into AI-first companies and deliver superior outcomes for their customers.”

In addition to accelerating AI innovation, the partnership places a strong emphasis on cybersecurity. Thoma Bravo’s cybersecurity portfolio will collaborate with Google Cloud to identify and mitigate emerging risks associated with AI adoption. Importantly, this approach recognizes that securing enterprise AI goes beyond protecting code alone. Instead, it requires safeguarding the entire threat landscape, including identities, credentials, and access pathways.

As AI systems grow more advanced, these elements are becoming high-value targets for attackers. Therefore, organizations must adopt more sophisticated security strategies that incorporate identity governance, access control, and behavioral threat detection. This broader security focus ensures that enterprises can innovate with AI while maintaining strong protection against evolving threats.

Notably, Thoma Bravo’s cybersecurity portfolio generates approximately $8 billion in total revenue and includes major industry players such as Proofpoint, SailPoint, Darktrace, Ping Identity, Sophos, Imprivata, and Exabeam. These companies span the full cybersecurity spectrum, further strengthening the partnership’s ability to address complex security challenges.

Overall, this collaboration highlights a growing industry trend toward combining AI innovation with robust security frameworks. By uniting advanced AI capabilities with deep cybersecurity expertise, Thoma Bravo and Google Cloud are positioning enterprise software companies to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven and risk-aware digital landscape.
