Dashlane, a leading provider of credential security solutions, has partnered with Yubico, the creator of highly secure passkeys, to introduce a phishing-resistant, passwordless login experience for Dashlane users. This collaboration allows users to access their Dashlane vaults with strong, hardware-backed authentication—eliminating the need for a master password.
By integrating Yubico’s YubiKey with Dashlane’s passwordless login, personal users can securely unlock their vaults with a simple touch. The system also allows multiple YubiKeys to be registered, ensuring continued access in case a primary key is lost or damaged, and enabling additional devices to be set up without entering a password.

Seamless, One-Touch Access
With just one touch of a YubiKey, users can now log into their Dashlane vaults without relying on passwords, streamlining both security and convenience.
“Creating a phishing-resistant, passwordless ecosystem depends on making passkey authentication simple and accessible for everyone,” said Sheryl Chamberlain, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Yubico. “Yubico and Dashlane have a long history of security innovation, and together we are driving the next frontier in passkey-based authentication and encryption. With threats like AI-driven phishing attacks on the rise, simplifying access to device-bound passkeys is more critical than ever for protecting login credentials.”
Dashlane: The First Major Credential Manager to Embrace FIDO2 Keys
Dashlane is now the first major credential manager to adopt FIDO2 security keys as the primary method for vault access. This is made possible through the WebAuthn PRF (Pseudo-Random Function) extension, which allows a YubiKey to not only authenticate a user but also unlock the vault itself. The extension generates a cryptographically strong, unique secret tied to the passkey, which feeds into the key derivation function to produce the final encryption/decryption key. This process enables a fully passwordless, phishing-resistant experience that enhances both security and user privacy.

“Passwords are a weak security measure and remain the root cause of most data breaches,” said John Bennett, CEO of Dashlane. “By integrating Dashlane with Yubico, we combine advanced security with frictionless login, making life harder for attackers while simplifying security for users.”
Towards a Cross-Platform Security Key Framework
Currently, passwordless login with YubiKeys is available via Dashlane’s browser extension, marking a crucial step toward a cross-platform, phishing-resistant security framework.
Due to limitations in mobile operating system APIs and non-Chromium browsers, WebAuthn PRF-based vault encryption and decryption is not yet available on all mobile devices. Dashlane and Yubico are actively developing a Yubico SDK to extend PRF support from web to mobile, ensuring consistent, secure access across devices.
“Together, Dashlane and Yubico are advancing a vision where credential vaults are entirely passwordless and phishing-resistant on every platform, whether for personal or enterprise use,” added Bennett.
