Valmet and Elisa have strengthened their strategic partnership by signing a multi-year agreement focused on delivering advanced cybersecurity services and establishing a global cybersecurity operations center (SOC). This move marks a significant step toward enhancing Valmet’s digital resilience in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

Starting April 1, 2026, both companies will expand their collaboration across three key areas: cybersecurity services, global network services, and mobile network solutions. As a result, they aim to create a unified and secure digital ecosystem where telecommunications and cybersecurity function seamlessly together.

Under this agreement, Valmet has officially chosen Elisa as its primary partner for cybersecurity services, including the implementation and operation of a global SOC. Not only will this collaboration strengthen Valmet’s defenses against evolving cyber threats, but it will also introduce continuous monitoring of its digital environment. Elisa will actively detect and respond to potential risks in real time, ensuring uninterrupted protection.

Moreover, Elisa’s services will complement Valmet’s internal information security systems by integrating proactive measures. These include continuous cybersecurity development initiatives and leveraging high-quality threat intelligence for early detection and prevention. Consequently, Valmet’s overall cybersecurity posture will become more robust and adaptive.

In addition to cybersecurity, the companies will continue their successful collaboration in network management and expert services. Over the past five years, Elisa has supported Valmet’s operations across more than 230 global locations. This ongoing partnership has enabled Valmet to scale efficiently and integrate multiple acquisitions smoothly into its IT infrastructure.

Furthermore, Elisa will remain Valmet’s trusted provider for mobile services, a partnership that has already spanned over a decade. This continued cooperation ensures a stable and efficient communication framework for Valmet’s workforce worldwide.

Beyond these developments, Valmet also maintains a long-standing collaboration with Elisa Industriq Finland. This includes advanced solutions such as manufacturing execution systems (MES) and warehouse automation systems across selected business units. Altogether, these partnerships highlight how long-term collaboration can drive innovation and deliver measurable business value.

Timo Katajisto, Executive Vice President, Corporate Customers at Elisa, said:
“Valmet is a rapidly transforming industry pioneer, and its partners must also be able to support Valmet in the company’s ambitious goals. We are proud that Valmet trusts Elisa and has decided to expand the scale of our collaboration. Together, we are building a high-quality digital environment for Valmet where telecommunications and cyber security go hand in hand.”

Similarly, Arto Huuskonen, Vice President, IT Transformation at Valmet, added:
“At Valmet, our goal is to move toward an increasingly dynamic and customer-centric future. To achieve this goal, we need world-leading digital solutions that not only elevate our capabilities to a new level but also ensure our cost efficiency. Elisa has convinced us with its ability to offer modern services that flexibly meet our specific needs and help safeguard our business continuity. We are extremely pleased that our long and successful collaboration will now continue and expand into new areas.”
