VMRay today announced the VMRay Sovereign European Cloud, a new SaaS offering that provides scalable, advanced threat analysis while guaranteeing full data residency and operational control within Europe.
VMRay has introduced its Sovereign European Cloud, a new offering designed to help organizations balance the need for cloud-native security capabilities with strict data sovereignty requirements across Europe. The solution targets critical infrastructure providers, government agencies, financial institutions, and healthcare organizations that must protect sensitive data from extraterritorial legal exposure, including regulations such as the U.S. CLOUD Act. While VMRay has traditionally supported these needs through on-premises deployments, the new platform brings a cloud-based alternative without compromising jurisdictional control.
Built on the Amazon Web Services European Sovereign Cloud, the platform combines the flexibility and scalability of SaaS with strong guarantees around data residency and governance. It ensures that all data processing, administration, and support operations are handled exclusively within the European Union by EU-based personnel. The architecture features strict physical and logical isolation from global cloud environments, reducing the risk of unauthorized access or cross-border data exposure. Governance of the service is maintained through a Luxembourg-based legal entity, ensuring that all operations remain under European jurisdiction and are shielded from foreign legal demands.
In addition, the infrastructure meets recognized European security standards, including BSI C5 attestation, and aligns with the emerging European Cybersecurity Certification Scheme for Cloud Services (EUCS). These certifications provide organizations with assurance that the platform adheres to high levels of compliance, security, and operational transparency.
