OpenText has announced that it will make several of its leading enterprise data and AI solutions available on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, a newly launched independent cloud designed specifically for Europe. With this move, the company strengthens its position in secure information management while addressing growing demand for data sovereignty and regulatory compliance across the European Union.

By extending its hybrid sovereign cloud capabilities through this new platform, OpenText is enabling organizations to leverage the advanced infrastructure of Amazon Web Services while ensuring that sensitive data remains securely within European boundaries. As a result, customers gain greater flexibility in adopting cloud technologies without compromising on governance or data residency requirements.

Furthermore, OpenText plans to offer several of its core solutions through this sovereign cloud environment. These include OpenText Content Management, OpenText Documentum Content Management, OpenText Core Application Security, and OpenText Core Service Management. Collectively, these platforms provide structured and secure content management, allowing enterprises to prepare their data for AI-driven analytics and automation. Consequently, organizations can accelerate decision-making while maintaining strict compliance standards.

In addition, these solutions are designed to deliver the same levels of security, availability, and performance that customers expect from AWS. This consistency ensures that enterprises operating in highly regulated industries can adopt AI and cloud technologies with confidence, knowing that their operational autonomy remains intact.

“OpenText has spent years building trusted, secure content solutions for the world’s most regulated industries and regions including FedRAMP-authorized, IRAP-assessed, and Protected B-aligned deployments,” said Shannon Bell, Chief Digital Officer and Chief Information Officer, OpenText. “Making our solution available on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud brings that expertise to a sovereign cloud purpose-built for the European Union. Together with AWS, we are giving customers the confidence to innovate at scale without compromising on control.”

At the same time, the AWS European Sovereign Cloud introduces a fully independent cloud infrastructure located entirely within the European Union. Unlike traditional cloud regions, this environment operates separately and is supported by strong technical safeguards, sovereign assurances, and legal protections tailored to the needs of European governments and enterprises.

Moreover, customers using this cloud platform will continue to benefit from AWS’s full suite of services, including its familiar architecture, APIs, and innovations such as the AWS Nitro System. Therefore, organizations can seamlessly transition their workloads while maintaining performance and scalability.

As enterprises face increasing pressure to comply with regional data regulations, this collaboration between OpenText and AWS arrives at a critical time. By combining secure content management with sovereign cloud infrastructure, both companies are helping organizations modernize their operations while staying aligned with evolving regulatory frameworks.

Overall, this development highlights OpenText’s ongoing commitment to delivering secure, AI-ready solutions that meet the complex demands of global enterprises. Customers can already begin planning their transition to the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, signaling the start of broader adoption in the near future.
