Dynatrace has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Bindplane, a company known for its open-standards-based telemetry pipeline technology. With this strategic move, Dynatrace aims to enhance its AI-powered observability platform and provide organizations with greater control over their growing data ecosystems.

As cloud-native architectures and AI-driven development continue to accelerate, organizations are experiencing a sharp increase in telemetry data. This data, which includes operational signals that reflect system performance and behavior, has become essential for managing modern digital environments. Consequently, telemetry pipelines that can efficiently capture, process, and deliver actionable insights are now a critical component of enterprise software strategies.

In this evolving landscape, Bindplane has positioned itself as a key player. Specifically, its technology enables organizations to optimize and govern telemetry at the edge, improving overall data quality while simultaneously reducing ingestion costs. Moreover, it enhances compliance by removing, masking, and encrypting sensitive data before it enters central systems. In addition, Bindplane offers a seamless transition path for enterprises moving from legacy monitoring tools to modern, cloud-native observability solutions.

“Telemetry pipelines have become a critical observability requirement in the AI era as technology teams must collect and send data to and from a plethora of sources,” said Stephen Elliot, Group VP, IDC. “Customers are purchasing solutions to control, enrich, and shape data for effective and efficient security and operations, enabling a scalable foundation for AI strategies.”

Building on this momentum, Dynatrace plans to integrate Bindplane’s capabilities to deliver a more unified and open approach to telemetry management. This integration will allow customers to better handle the increasing volume and complexity of data generated across distributed systems.

“Together, Dynatrace and Bindplane will enable a new level of control over telemetry,” said Steve Tack, Chief Product Officer at Dynatrace. “As data volumes surge and AI becomes central to how teams build and operate software, customers need a unified, open approach to managing their data. Our combined offering will create a market leading foundation that gives customers the clarity and control they need to operate with confidence and drive innovation. The acquisition will allow Dynatrace to accelerate its Log Management and Analytics roadmap as customers will gain expanded ingest capacity across a broader range of data sources and the freedom to route telemetry to any destination.”

Furthermore, the acquisition aligns with Dynatrace’s broader vision of enabling organizations to transform data into a strategic asset. By combining its AI-driven observability platform with Bindplane’s telemetry pipeline expertise, the company is positioning itself to deliver more scalable, flexible, and efficient data management solutions.

“As organizations modernize and adopt AI-driven development, telemetry has become one of their most valuable and yet challenging assets,” said Michael Kelly, CEO at Bindplane. “Bindplane helps customers reduce complexity, improve data quality, and accelerate their digital transformation. We’re excited to join Dynatrace to enable even more teams around the world to turn their data into a strategic advantage.”

The transaction is expected to close later this month, subject to customary closing conditions. Notably, Dynatrace has indicated that the acquisition will not have a material impact on its fiscal year 2027 financial results.

Overall, this acquisition highlights Dynatrace’s continued focus on strengthening its observability platform while addressing the growing demands of AI-driven enterprises.
