Numecent, a provider of application containerization and cloud-native application management solutions, has announced a new integration between its Cloudpager platform and Citrix DaaS as well as Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD). The integration enables IT administrators to publish and manage Cloudpaging application containers directly within Citrix environments using Citrix Studio, supporting both cloud-managed and self-managed deployments.

This development allows organizations to deliver applications more efficiently without switching between management consoles. By separating applications from the underlying desktop image, the integration removes traditional compatibility challenges between applications and operating systems, helping IT teams modernize infrastructure without dealing with excessive image management.

The integration introduces a more streamlined approach to application delivery by allowing applications to be virtualized on a per-user basis instead of being embedded within desktop images. This significantly reduces image sprawl, lowers storage requirements, and simplifies ongoing management. IT teams can now incorporate Cloudpaging containers into existing Citrix workflows without the need for additional custom tools.

Numecent CEO and Co-founder Arthur S. Hitomi stated that the integration is designed to support even the most complex enterprise environments. He explained that organizations can now containerize and deploy legacy and modern applications seamlessly across both persistent and non-persistent desktops. This approach improves portability, reduces deployment friction, and enhances operational efficiency.

In addition to improving application delivery, the integration strengthens disaster recovery capabilities. In the event of system failures or cyber incidents such as ransomware attacks, organizations can quickly deploy a clean Citrix environment and restore applications securely from the cloud using Cloudpager. This helps reduce recovery time and ensures business continuity.

The solution also expands application compatibility, enabling organizations to run a wide range of Windows applications, including legacy software, without modifying the operating system. It provides a unified workflow for managing desktops and applications, supports legacy modernization, and enhances operational flexibility by allowing updates to be deployed independently of desktop images.

Shawn Bass, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Citrix DaaS, highlighted that customers are increasingly seeking flexible and enterprise-ready solutions for modernizing application delivery. He noted that the integration offers a simplified way to manage application containers while maintaining performance and reliability.

Todd Hsu, President of Ferroque Systems, added that the integration helps organizations reduce complexity and improve resilience. By decoupling applications from desktop images, businesses can accelerate recovery processes and adopt a more agile, application-centric approach to virtual desktop infrastructure. The partnership reflects a growing shift toward more flexible, scalable, and resilient digital workspace strategies in enterprise IT environments.
