Headquartered in Brentwood, 5th Gear Technology Concepts has established a strong foothold in highly regulated sectors, particularly healthcare. The company delivers a wide range of services, including cybersecurity, managed IT, cloud hosting, networking, and hardware solutions, with a significant client base across medical and dental practices.
The acquisition represents a strategic expansion for Mobile Mentor as it intensifies its focus on the healthcare market. By integrating 5th Gear’s specialized industry knowledge with its own strengths in Microsoft technologies, Mobile Mentor aims to provide a more comprehensive, end-to-end service offering. The combined capabilities are expected to help organizations enhance security, maintain compliance, and maximize the value of their existing technology investments.
Denis O’Shea, Founder and CEO of Mobile Mentor, emphasized the alignment between the two companies, noting that shared customers and complementary strengths made the acquisition a natural progression. Glenn Porter, President of 5th Gear Technology Concepts, described the deal as a significant milestone for his organization. As part of the integration plan, Mobile Mentor intends to relocate to 5th Gear’s office in Maryland Farms, a key hub within a major healthcare corridor. The leadership team from 5th Gear will also be fully integrated into Mobile Mentor to help drive continued expansion With this acquisition, Mobile Mentor is positioning itself for accelerated growth, strengthening its presence across North America, Australia, and New Zealand while deepening its capabilities in serving healthcare organizations and other regulated industries.
