As enterprises scale autonomous systems, the Check Point AI Defense Plane integration with Google Cloud signals a shift toward securing AI agents at every stage of their lifecycle.

Check Point Software Technologies announced it will serve as a launch partner with Google Cloud to integrate its AI Defense Plane with Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. The collaboration is designed to deliver comprehensive security for organizations deploying AI agents across cloud environments.

The Check Point AI Defense Plane integration comes as enterprises move beyond simple chatbots to autonomous AI agents capable of executing workflows, accessing tools, and interacting with sensitive data. This evolution introduces new risks that traditional access based security models cannot fully address, particularly at runtime when AI systems are actively making decisions.

“The emerging architecture for agentic security requires three layers: a control plane for identity and connectivity, a governance layer for policy enforcement, and a runtime intelligence layer for behavioral protection,” said David Haber, Vice President of AI Security at Check Point Software Technologies. “Google Cloud’s Enterprise Agent Platform provides the control plane. Check Point adds the other two. We govern which agents, tools, and connections are allowed, and we inspect every action at runtime to determine whether it should proceed.”

Through this integration, organizations will gain visibility into their entire AI agent environment, including deployed agents, connected tools, and Model Context Protocol server interactions. This centralized view enables security teams to better understand how AI systems operate within their infrastructure.

The solution also introduces governance capabilities that allow teams to define and enforce policies before agents are deployed. These controls include allow and deny lists for tools and connections, as well as posture management policies that can block risky configurations. By applying these safeguards early, organizations can reduce the likelihood of misconfigured or insecure AI deployments.

At runtime, the Check Point AI Defense Plane integration provides real time protection by monitoring agent behavior and interactions. This includes detecting and blocking prompt injection attempts, preventing sensitive data exposure, and screening tool execution requests before they are carried out. These runtime guardrails are critical in ensuring that AI agents operate within defined security boundaries.
