Bugcrowd has announced a strategic partnership with Carahsoft Technology Corp. to extend its security testing platform across U.S. public sector organizations. Under the agreement, Carahsoft will act as Bugcrowd’s Master Government Aggregator®, making the company’s vulnerability discovery and testing solutions available through its extensive reseller network and major government procurement contracts, including NASA SEWP V, OMNIA Partners, and E&I Cooperative Services.
The collaboration is designed to help federal, state, and local agencies proactively identify and address security vulnerabilities in their systems. Bugcrowd’s platform enables organizations to conduct managed bug bounty programs, vulnerability disclosure initiatives, penetration testing, and red teaming within a secure, cloud-native environment. A key component of the offering is Bugcrowd’s FedRAMP Moderate authorized platform, sponsored by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). This designation ensures that the platform meets stringent federal security and compliance requirements, making it suitable for government use.
Kent Wilson, Vice President of Global Public Sector at Bugcrowd, noted that public sector agencies are increasingly seeking scalable and secure ways to strengthen their defenses. He emphasized that the partnership allows organizations to tap into a global community of vetted security researchers to uncover vulnerabilities more effectively.
Bugcrowd’s approach leverages crowdsourced security expertise, helping address the ongoing cybersecurity talent shortage. Its platform also incorporates AI-assisted matching to align testing tasks with researchers who have the most relevant skills, improving both efficiency and coverage.
Brian O’Donnell, Vice President of Cybersecurity Solutions at Carahsoft, said the partnership supports the company’s mission to provide government customers with advanced security solutions that protect critical infrastructure and supply chains By combining Bugcrowd’s crowdsourced security model with Carahsoft’s established government distribution channels, the partnership aims to enhance proactive defense capabilities across the public sector, enabling agencies to identify and remediate vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.
