BiomX Inc. has announced the completion of its acquisition of Zorronet from Water.io, marking the company’s formal entry into the defense, security, and rescue sectors. The deal gives BiomX full ownership of Zorronet and signals a strategic move to diversify beyond its traditional focus. Zorronet specializes in AI-powered command-and-control software designed to unify data from multiple sources including drones, sensors, cameras, and IoT devices into a single operational intelligence platform. By analyzing these data streams in near real time, the system helps detect, classify, and prioritize potential threats, enabling faster and more informed decision-making in high-risk environments.
The platform is already deployed in mission-critical settings, with existing contracts that include the Israel Defense Forces and infrastructure operators such as Israel Railways. Zorronet also works with government agencies, global customers, and major defense contractors like Elbit Systems.
The acquisition aligns with BiomX’s broader strategy to build a portfolio of technologies focused on modern defense and security needs. It complements the company’s previously announced option to acquire control of DFSL, an Israeli firm specializing in LADAR (Laser Detection and Ranging) technologies used in counter-drone systems, border security, and advanced detection.
Together, these capabilities position BiomX to address one of the key challenges in modern security operations: managing vast volumes of data generated by increasingly connected systems. Traditionally, operators rely on multiple disconnected platforms, which can slow response times and increase the likelihood of missed threats. Zorronet’s unified approach consolidates these fragmented systems into a single intelligence layer, allowing operators to transition from passive monitoring to proactive threat management.
The move comes as global demand for integrated command-and-control and video analytics systems continues to rise. Industry projections estimate that the command-and-control systems market could reach approximately $44 billion by 2030, while the video analytics market is expected to surpass $37 billion over the same period.
BiomX CEO Michael Oster said the acquisition enhances the company’s ability to support real-time decision-making in complex environments, where rapid interpretation of sensor data is increasingly critical. With this acquisition, BiomX is positioning itself to capitalize on the convergence of artificial intelligence, defense technologies, and real-time analytics areas expected to play a central role in next-generation security and operational systems.
