DigiCert has officially unveiled its latest innovation, Content Trust Manager, a new addition to the DigiCert® ONE platform. With this launch, the company aims to help organizations verify the authenticity of digital content in an era increasingly dominated by AI-generated media.
As digital ecosystems rapidly evolve, organizations now face a growing challenge—distinguishing real content from manipulated or synthetic media. Consequently, DigiCert has stepped forward with a solution that directly embeds trust into digital assets rather than relying on outdated verification techniques.
Content Trust Manager allows businesses to attach secure, verifiable credentials to digital media. As a result, users can easily track where content originated, understand how it has evolved, and identify who made changes along the way. This approach significantly improves transparency and accountability across digital platforms.
Notably, the rise of synthetic and AI-generated content has exposed the limitations of traditional methods such as metadata and platform signals. These methods, although once reliable, can now be altered or removed, making them ineffective in modern workflows. Therefore, organizations are increasingly shifting toward cryptographic verification methods that offer stronger and tamper-proof authentication.
“Trust in digital content is under pressure as AI makes it easier than ever to create and alter images, video, and other media,” said Deepika Chauhan, Chief Product Officer at DigiCert. “What’s needed is a consistent, scalable way to attach trust directly to content itself. Content Trust Manager brings together DigiCert’s global PKI and C2PA’s open standards to attach trusted, tamper-evident credentials to digital media.”
To address these concerns, Content Trust Manager enables organizations to cryptographically sign and verify digital assets using DigiCert’s globally trusted PKI infrastructure. Moreover, the solution integrates seamlessly into existing enterprise workflows through APIs, making adoption both simple and scalable.
Importantly, the platform leverages the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) standard. This open framework, supported by major industry players, ensures that tamper-evident credentials remain intact as content moves across systems. By doing so, DigiCert eliminates the need for organizations to build complex infrastructure from scratch.
Additionally, Content Trust Manager embeds credentials directly within media files. Consequently, provenance data remains intact even when content is shared, edited, or redistributed. This feature strengthens brand protection and enhances resilience against misinformation.
Through this solution, organizations can sign digital content, embed verifiable credentials, confirm authorship, and integrate trust into workflows effortlessly. Furthermore, DigiCert supports certificate issuance, timestamping, and secure key management, ensuring a comprehensive trust ecosystem.
“The growth of AI-generated content requires organizations to prove authenticity to preserve and maintain trust,” said Jennifer Glenn, Research Director for IDC Security and Trust Group. “By embracing C2PA standards and the proven trust of PKI, organizations can build the cryptographic foundation needed to verify provenance and authenticity of digital content, ensuring credibility and trust with customers.”
Designed for enterprises, media organizations, and public sector entities, Content Trust Manager addresses both regulatory demands and responsible AI practices. In addition, it builds on DigiCert’s earlier Document Trust Manager, combining document and media authenticity into a unified platform.
Looking ahead, DigiCert is also enhancing trust at the point of content creation. Through DigiCert Device Trust Manager, manufacturers can embed cryptographic signing capabilities directly into devices such as cameras and scanners. This ensures that content is verified from the moment it is captured, maintaining integrity throughout its lifecycle.
