GoGuardian has introduced GoGuardian Discover, a new solution designed to give school districts a unified view of their entire education technology ecosystem. The launch comes as districts face increasing pressure to justify technology spending and manage compliance risks. To support decision-making during budget season, the company is offering free access to Discover for up to 60 days through July 31 for both new and existing customers.
School districts today manage thousands of digital tools annually, yet a significant portion of purchased software licenses goes unused. At the same time, funding constraints remain a top concern for education leaders, who are under growing scrutiny from boards and stakeholders to demonstrate value from every investment. GoGuardian Discover aims to address this gap by providing clear visibility into technology usage, risks, and cost-saving opportunities. The platform enables administrators to identify unused or underutilized applications, monitor privacy compliance, and detect unapproved tools entering the system. By offering a comprehensive overview of the EdTech landscape, Discover helps districts make informed decisions before budgets are finalized.
Manny Sevillano, Director of New Products at GoGuardian, said the tool was built to eliminate uncertainty during one of the most critical planning periods for schools. He noted that many districts currently lack a reliable way to understand what tools they have and how effectively they are being used. Discover, he explained, provides actionable insights that allow leaders to enter budget discussions with clear data and confidence.
The solution includes automated compliance monitoring, tracking applications against recognized student data privacy standards such as iKeepSafe and 1EdTech certifications. It also alerts administrators when vendors update privacy policies and uses AI to identify unvetted “shadow IT” applications before they create potential risks.
In addition to compliance, Discover focuses heavily on cost optimization. By analyzing system-level activity across thousands of applications and billions of web interactions, the platform highlights unused licenses and provides data-backed recommendations to reduce unnecessary spending, particularly before contract renewals. Another key feature is its natural language query capability, allowing users to ask questions about their technology environment and receive clear, actionable reports. The platform goes beyond simple login metrics by measuring actual engagement, helping administrators understand how tools are used across campuses and where adjustments are needed.
Early feedback from beta users has been positive, with education technology leaders highlighting the platform’s clarity, usability, and potential to streamline internal review processes. Many noted that while data is abundant, the real challenge lies in quickly translating it into actionable insights something Discover is designed to solve. With its simplified onboarding process especially for existing customers already using GoGuardian tools the company aims to position Discover as a central system for EdTech decision-making. As districts navigate tightening budgets and increasing accountability, solutions that combine visibility, compliance, and cost control are becoming essential components of modern education technology strategies.
