The integration of Skyhigh SWG with Trellix IVX is a quantum leap, offering our customers a very formidable defense system,” said Boubker Elmouttahid, Global Technical Director at Skyhigh Security. “This partnership will really help in enhancing the detection, analysis, and neutralization of sophisticated threats in real-time, thus continuing to position our customers on the right path of their digital journey with the best-of-class security protection.”

Key Use Cases and Benefits

Block Unknown and Zero-Day Malware: Skyhigh SWG scans web objects for viruses or malware. If a suspicious object is found, it is forwarded to Trellix IVX for further analysis. Trellix’s sandbox technology inspects the file within a controlled environment; it analyzes the file’s behavior to identify potential threats.

It adds access data forensics in Trellix IVX, including threat detection sandboxing for known and unknown malware and an in-depth forensic report on the attack vector and potential impact, mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK framework. This critical information enables quicker decision-making at times of security incidents.

View Indicators of Compromise: Trellix delivers full incident reports on the Indicators of Compromise—traces that attackers or malicious software may leave behind—enabling an organization to identify security incidents. These IOCs improve threat hunting, enabling security teams to make allow/block decisions for objects on Skyhigh SWG.

“This cloud-to-cloud integration between Skyhigh SWG and Trellix IVX adds an additional layer of malware scanning, augmenting our current Gateway Anti-Malware engine,” said America Garcia, Product Marketing Manager at Skyhigh Security. “With this integration, we strengthen our commitment towards better security through a layered defense approach.”

Skyhigh Security and Trellix: Strategic Alliance

This integration thus capitalizes on the strengths of both companies in providing maximum value to customers. Skyhigh Security’s platform already sports a robust GAM engine and Remote Browser Isolation included at no additional cost for the prevention of zero-day threats from ever making it to the endpoint in the first place. Trellix IVX provides the dynamic signatureless analysis engine inspecting suspicious network traffic looking for attacks which circumvent traditional defenses. Combined, these technologies dramatically improve threat detection capabilities for the customer.
