NETSCOUT SYSTEMS, INC., a global leader in observability, AIOps, and cybersecurity solutions, has introduced new AI-driven enhancements to its Arbor Edge Defense and Arbor Enterprise Manager platforms. These updates aim to boost automation, reinforce protection, and improve reporting to help organizations combat increasingly complex Distributed Denial of Service attacks.
The upgraded solution leverages artificial intelligence to rapidly detect and respond to a wider range of DDoS threats, reducing the need for manual intervention and helping protect mission-critical services and infrastructure more efficiently.

At the core of these enhancements is NETSCOUT’s ATLAS Intelligence Feed. This feed is powered by real-time visibility into over 700 Tbps of global internet traffic, collected from more than 500 ISPs and 2,000 enterprise environments spanning 100+ countries—roughly 50% of all internet activity. AI and machine learning algorithms run in the ATLAS cloud infrastructure continuously analyze this data to deliver up-to-the-minute threat intelligence to all Arbor DDoS protection products. As a result, up to 80% of DDoS attacks can be blocked automatically, without the need for deeper analysis.
Chris Rodriguez, Research Director of Security and Trust at IDC, highlighted the growing risk and financial impact of cyberattacks:
“IDC’s April 2025 research shows that 41% of organizations experienced over $100,000 in losses from online attacks like DDoS, with 5% reporting damages exceeding $1 million. With cybercriminals increasingly using AI/ML to launch these attacks, companies need advanced, intelligent defense systems that can keep up with emerging threats and protect vital IT assets.”
NETSCOUT’s latest updates to the Arbor suite are specifically designed to support complex, multi-site enterprise deployments and enhance automated protection against sophisticated attack methods. Key new capabilities include:
Scoped User Access: More refined data segmentation enables administrators to control what specific users or teams can see, based on their roles and location access.

Automated IP Protocol Flood Protection: Rapid detection and response to evolving protocol-based DDoS attacks help prevent damage before it escalates.
Improved DDoS Dashboard: Delivers enhanced situational awareness and greater operational control, even as automation handles much of the mitigation.
Automated, On-Demand Reporting: Facilitates better communication across security teams and leadership, streamlining threat response coordination.
Scott Iekel-Johnson, NETSCOUT’s Area VP for DDoS and Threat Intelligence, significance the company’s commitment to revolution:
“As part of our Adaptive DDoS Protection strategy, we’re ever-changing to counter the latest cyber threats. These AI-driven updates allow organizations to defend against advanced DDoS attacks more effectively while making it easier to manage and analyze those threats.”
With cyber threats growing in sophistication and scale, NETSCOUT’s advancements reaffirm its mission to equip organizations with smarter, faster, and more autonomous cybersecurity defenses.
