As cyber threats grow more complex and distributed, managed service providers are under pressure to deliver faster and more unified protection across client environments. ConnectWise has introduced a new approach aimed at addressing these challenges with the launch of its Modern Threat Protection framework.

The ConnectWise Modern Threat Protection solution is a unified, AI powered cybersecurity model designed to help MSPs detect, investigate, and respond to threats more efficiently. At the center of the announcement is the industry’s first 15 minute service level agreement for managed endpoint detection and response, setting a new benchmark for response speed and operational accountability.

Traditional cybersecurity models often rely on disconnected tools, leading to fragmented visibility, alert fatigue, and increased operational costs. ConnectWise’s new approach consolidates multiple layers of security into a cohesive system, enabling MSPs to correlate signals across endpoints, identities, SaaS applications, and networks. This integrated model provides deeper context, allowing faster identification of real threats and more confident response actions.

“Fragmented tools create gaps and alert fatigue while slowing MSP operations and increasing the human capital costs required to deliver the security customers expect,” said Russ Humphries, EVP of Product Management, Cybersecurity, and Data Protection at ConnectWise. “Modern Threat Protection brings together the core elements of cybersecurity through a connected, AI-driven approach backed by the industry’s first 15-minute SLA so partners can reduce complexity, strengthen visibility, and deliver faster, more confident responses.”

The framework combines three core components of the MSP security stack: managed endpoint detection and response for rapid triage and remediation, security information and event management for centralized log analysis and threat detection, and email security to protect against phishing and other common attack vectors. Together, these layers provide comprehensive coverage across the full threat lifecycle.

At the core of the ConnectWise Modern Threat Protection model are agentic AI capabilities that act as specialized domain experts. These systems automatically triage alerts, reduce false positives, and generate detailed threat analysis reports for each incident. This intelligence is combined with human expertise from ConnectWise’s Security Operations Center, creating a hybrid model that blends machine speed with expert oversight.

This approach enables MSPs to reduce alert noise, accelerate investigation timelines, and deliver 24 by 7 protection without the need to build and maintain their own SOC infrastructure. The platform is also designed to scale alongside MSP growth, allowing providers to expand coverage while maintaining operational efficiency.

Industry data underscores the urgency of such innovations. According to findings referenced from Verizon’s Data Breach Investigations Report, third party involvement in breaches has doubled, while vulnerability exploitation continues to rise, reinforcing the need for unified visibility and rapid response capabilities.

The ConnectWise Modern Threat Protection initiative reflects a broader shift toward integrated, AI driven cybersecurity operations. As MSPs navigate increasingly complex threat environments, solutions that combine speed, automation, and expert guidance will be essential to delivering consistent protection and maintaining client trust.
