Accenture and Microsoft Corporation are strengthening their collaboration by co-investing in generative AI-driven cybersecurity solutions designed to help organizations mitigate evolving threats, streamline technology tools, and reduce operational costs.

Accenture’s State of Cyber Resilience 2025 report release that 90% of organizations remain resistant to defend against AI-augmented cyber threats. This partnership combines Accenture’s expertise in cybersecurity services and AI transformation with Microsoft’s advanced security technologies to deliver innovative solutions across four critical areas: SOC modernization, automated data and AI security, security-focused migration and merging, and increase identity and access management (IAM).

“AI-enabled worldwide cyber threats are increasing in speed, sophistication, and scale,” said Paolo Dal Cin, Global Lead of Accenture Security. “With automation and generative AI, organizations can transform their security operations and stay ahead of adversaries. This expanded collaboration with Microsoft reinforces our commitment to helping clients protect their critical data and enhance business resilience.”

One successful example is the companies’ joint project with Nationwide Building Society, the UK’s largest building society serving over 17 million customers. Through a large-scale migration to Microsoft Sentinel, Nationwide streamlined its security infrastructure and accelerated threat detection using a generative AI-powered security information and event management capability co-developed by Accenture and Microsoft. This approach enabled rapid migration of hundreds of terabytes of data while freeing up resources for further operational improvements.

“In a complex and dynamic threat landscape, enhancing our cybersecurity operations is essential,” said David Boda, Chief Security & Resilience Officer at Nationwide. “Accenture’s expertise in our migration to Microsoft Sentinel was indispensable, and generative AI enabled us to transfer this transformation more efficiently.”

The key solutions being co-developed include:

SOC Modernization: Integrating Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, and Accenture’s Adaptive MxDR for Microsoft to enhance threat detection and response in hybrid environments. AI tools like Microsoft Security Copilot help analysts investigate threats faster, cut alert noise, and focus on critical risks. Organizations can boost SOC efficiency by up to 30%.

Automated Data Protection and AI Security: Combining Microsoft Purview with Accenture’s data security framework to automatically classify and protect sensitive data across Microsoft 365 applications, ensuring regulatory compliance and secure collaboration in AI-driven workplaces.

Security-Centric Migration and Consolidation: Leveraging Microsoft’s security suite alongside Accenture’s E5 Acceleration Playbook to accelerate migration, simplify toolsets, and optimize licensing. Organizations can achieve 35–50% cost savings while reducing vendor complexity and maximizing the value of Microsoft E5.

Enhanced IAM: Using Microsoft Entra Suite, Accenture’s solutions modernize Active Directory environments, strengthen identity governance and administration, and enable passwordless authentication for improved user experience, security, and operational efficiency with potential cost reductions of 30–50%.

“We are respect to partner with Accenture in advancing the next generation of cybersecurity,” said Vasu Jakkal, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft Security. “As cyber threats become more complex and fast-moving, organizations require streamlined, comprehensive protection across their entire environment.”

Together, we are empowering customers with AI-driven solutions that enhance resilience and keep them ahead of threats.”
