Tandem is excited to introduce the latest version of Tandem Cybersecurity Assessment online software, recently updated to support multiple cybersecurity frameworks. The release of the updated new product comes at a critical time for financial institutions after the FFIEC announced the sunset of its Cybersecurity Assessment Tool (CAT).

Tandem announced the early release of features for the product on January 2, 2025 and, with excitement, announces the full release.

“Our team makes it a priority to closely watch federal guidance and listen to the needs of our customers. When the announcement from the FFIEC came out, our team of developers quickly shifted their focus on addressing the new need,” stated Brady Cook, General Manager for Tandem.

Tandem Cybersecurity Assessment is a significant application upgrade for the Tandem Cybersecurity Assessment Tool product, Tandem’s most popular product in its GRC software suite. Tandem CAT was initially created to help financial institutions complete the FFIEC CAT, which was released in June 2015 to help financial institutions determine their cybersecurity preparedness. According to the FFIEC CAT Sunset Statement, the FFIEC will remove the CAT from its website on August 31, 2025 and encouraged supervised institutions to consider using other cybersecurity frameworks.

Tandem Cybersecurity Assessment includes updates which allow users to replace the FFIEC CAT and easily complete cybersecurity self-assessments based on frameworks like the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), CISA Cybersecurity Performance Goals (CPGs), NCUA Information Security Examination (ISE), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), and more. Frameworks are supported through either provided templates or import options, with familiar software features for Tandem users. Tandem Cybersecurity Assessment offers snapshot views of the entire assessment, the ability to measure maturity in cybersecurity controls, and features such as commenting, uploading attachments, assigning responsibility, creating custom reports, and even peer analytics.
