Synaptics Incorporated has introduced the SYN765x, a new AI-native wireless solution designed to bring real-time intelligence and advanced connectivity directly to Edge devices. By combining AI-optimized computing with integrated Wi-Fi 7, the single-chip platform aims to transform how smart appliances, home automation systems, and Industrial IoT applications process data locally. As the demand for faster, more intelligent Edge systems grows, the SYN765x positions itself as a powerful solution that merges connectivity, computing, and AI capabilities into one compact device.
The SYN765x integrates Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth® LE 6.0, and Thread/Zigbee connectivity across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, enabling seamless communication across multiple wireless protocols simultaneously. Additionally, the chip includes dedicated on-chip acceleration for AI-driven control and signal-processing tasks. This architecture significantly reduces the workload on host processors while maintaining strict latency and energy efficiency requirements, which are critical for battery-powered and real-time IoT systems.

Furthermore, the SYN765x delivers high-performance wireless connectivity while serving as a convenient on-chip companion for smart devices operating at the network Edge. Its single-chip integration reduces system footprint, simplifies hardware design, and provides manufacturers with both engineering flexibility and lower development costs. As a result, developers can deploy advanced wireless connectivity without the complexity associated with multi-chip solutions.
Another key advantage of the SYN765x is its ability to bring advanced Wi-Fi 7 capabilities to low-power embedded environments. Historically, cost and power limitations have prevented many embedded devices from adopting the latest Wi-Fi standards. However, this new platform significantly reduces those barriers. Consequently, devices can now benefit from lower latency, seamless band switching, secure reconnections, and access to the interference-free 6 GHz spectrum. These capabilities help accelerate the adoption of next-generation wireless technologies across Edge IoT ecosystems.
In addition to connectivity improvements, the SYN765x introduces advanced wireless sensing capabilities. Using standard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals, the chip supports presence detection, motion tracking, and proximity awareness. For Wi-Fi sensing, the solution combines high-accuracy Channel State Information (CSI) extraction with on-device machine learning algorithms. This architecture enables highly accurate environmental sensing and supports a broader range of applications compared with many connectivity solutions currently available.
The platform also incorporates Bluetooth Channel Sounding, which enables accurate and energy-efficient distance measurement in everyday environments. This feature offers a cost-effective alternative to more expensive sensing technologies such as mmWave radar or ultra-wideband systems. In addition, integrated logic processors, digital signal processors (DSPs), and neural processing units (NPUs) provide a powerful platform for running embedded AI workloads while maintaining efficient power consumption.
Another notable feature of the SYN765x is its flexible deployment capability. It can operate as a co-processor alongside a host application processor or microcontroller. Alternatively, it can run independently in standalone or host-less configurations, thanks to its built-in memory and processing resources. By removing the need for a separate microcontroller in many cases, the chip reduces overall system complexity and enables a new class of compact, battery-powered IoT devices.
“Intelligence at the Edge demands uncompromising wireless performance,” said Vikram Gupta, SVP & GM, Edge Compute & Connectivity Division, Synaptics. “SYN765x extends our leadership in wireless technology by integrating Wi-Fi® 7, BLE, Thread/Zigbee with AI-native processing. This simplifies system design, lowers power and cost barriers, and accelerates adoption of next-generation wireless across consumer, industrial, and enterprise IoT markets.”
