Trend Micro Incorporated, a global cybersecurity leader, has announced a strategic partnership with Cifas, the UK’s foremost fraud prevention service. Together, the two organizations are launching JustMe, a groundbreaking mobile application designed to help individuals safeguard their digital identities and defend against online scams.

Fraud continues to pose a major challenge in the UK, representing nearly 44% of all reported crimes across England and Wales and costing the nation an estimated £219 billion each year. In addition, UK consumers have collectively lost around £10 billion to online scams in 2025 alone.

Data from the Cifas National Database—the UK’s largest repository of real-time fraud intelligence—reveals that identity fraud accounts for 59% of all reported cases, underscoring the urgency of proactive identity protection.

JustMe was developed to address this growing threat by combining real-time identity verification with intelligent scam detection. The app enables users to monitor and control how their personal details are used, while providing instant alerts on suspicious activity. For example, when a credit card or loan application is submitted under their name, users receive a real-time notification allowing them to verify its legitimacy. The app also allows individuals to upload suspicious emails, text messages, or social media content to check whether it is fraudulent.

Mike Haley, CEO of Cifas, highlighted the importance of the initiative:

“Our collaboration with Trend Micro marks a major step forward in personal fraud protection. By uniting the proven expertise of Cifas and Trend Micro, we aim to deliver a market-leading tool that empowers millions of people to protect themselves. This partnership sets a new benchmark in fraud prevention and reinforces our joint commitment to safeguarding consumers and organizations from identity crime.”

Through this collaboration, Cifas and Trend Micro aim to redefine the landscape of consumer protection in the UK, equipping individuals with the tools and confidence needed to recognize, prevent, and respond to fraudulent activities in real time.
