ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, has announced a significant enhancement to its unified endpoint management and security (UEMS) platform, Endpoint Central. The latest update introduces endpoint detection and response (EDR) along with secure private access capabilities, further strengthening the platform’s ability to protect modern enterprise environments.
These new additions bring advanced, AI-powered threat detection, automated remediation, and Zero Trust-based access controls into a single platform. By verifying device trust before granting access to internal applications, Endpoint Central aims to reduce risks associated with compromised credentials and unauthorized access.
As organizations continue to support distributed workforces and expanding device ecosystems, endpoints have become a critical focal point for both operations and cybersecurity. However, many enterprises still depend on multiple disconnected tools for managing endpoints, securing systems, and enabling remote access. This fragmented approach often leads to inefficiencies and increases exposure to threats. At the same time, cybercriminals are leveraging AI-driven methods to launch more complex attacks, including ransomware campaigns. Traditional VPN-based models, which often grant broad network access after authentication, further amplify security concerns. To address these challenges, businesses are increasingly adopting unified, AI-enabled platforms that combine endpoint management, threat detection, and secure access. ManageEngine’s latest update aligns with this shift by consolidating these capabilities into a single, integrated solution.
According to Chirag Mehta, Vice President and Principal Analyst at Constellation Research, modern endpoint security requires faster detection and containment of threats, along with strict access controls. Integrating EDR with device trust-based access can significantly reduce attacker dwell time and limit the potential impact of breaches With the integration of EDR and secure private access, Endpoint Central enables IT and security teams to operate using a shared intelligence layer. The platform delivers unified telemetry that improves threat detection and investigation across multiple domains. It also supports direct remediation actions such as patch deployment and configuration hardening within existing endpoint management workflows. Powered by a lightweight agent and centralized console, the platform simplifies device management, incident response, and secure access enforcement.
Mathivanan Venkatachalam, Vice President at ManageEngine, highlighted that endpoints are increasingly becoming the control point for both security and access. He noted that the new capabilities are designed to help organizations transition from reactive defenses to a more proactive and resilient security posture, with faster threat detection and response.
