March Networks, a global leader in intelligent video surveillance, has launched its new Cloud Storage solution as part of its latest product and software update, showcased at Intersec Dubai. Initially introduced in December in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud storage solution is now available to customers worldwide.

Building on its existing cloud capabilities, March Networks’ new cloud storage model addresses one of the most persistent challenges for organizations: securely retaining increasing volumes of video without incurring high infrastructure or storage costs.

Flexible and Cost-Effective Cloud Storage

Traditional storage methods often require frequent hardware upgrades and increase operational overhead as video retention demands grow. To solve this, March Networks introduces a tiered cloud storage approach powered by AWS. Recent and frequently accessed footage remains readily available for fast investigations, while older video is archived securely using Amazon S3 Glacier. This cold storage solution provides long-term video retention at a lower cost.

This flexible model enables organizations to reduce long-term storage expenses by up to 80% over five years while maintaining secure access to archived footage. Archived video typically becomes available within 12 to 48 hours, and once retrieved, it can be reviewed and trimmed directly within the March Networks application. This approach supports higher-quality evidence handling and eliminates limits on the number of cameras backed up.

Jeff Corrall, Chief Product Officer at March Networks, highlighted the impact of this innovation: “We have solved the number one problem businesses face today in video surveillance. Customers have been clear that long-term video retention is one of their biggest operational and cost challenges. This release really improves the cost of video storage by aligning cost, performance, and access with how video is actually used.”

Proven Customer Savings

For instance, one customer operating 580 cameras generating approximately 5,600 TB of archived video found that March Networks Cloud Storage could reduce annual storage costs from $1.7 million on-premise to an estimated $347,000. This hybrid solution allowed immediate access to recent footage while drastically cutting long-term retention expenses.

Enhanced Software and AI Capabilities

Alongside cloud storage, March Networks’ latest release includes significant software enhancements. Improved AI Smart Search delivers faster, more intuitive searches with natural language queries, visual matching, and smarter alerts. Attribute Search now offers zone-based precision, enabling faster investigations across multiple cameras. The new Smart Rules Wizard simplifies real-time alert creation through step-by-step guidance. Additionally, Command Enterprise (CES) and Command Client improvements enhance usability with faster event filtering, expanded device compatibility, keyboard shortcuts, and real-time alarm monitoring.

New Cameras and Recording Hardware

The update also expands the edge portfolio. Key additions include:

  • EL5 Turret Camera: A cost-effective, high-quality option available in fixed and motorized 5MP versions for commercial and retail environments.
  • AI12 360 Camera: Provides immersive 360-degree coverage, reducing the number of cameras needed and supporting efficient investigations.
  • EL5 Nano Dome Camera: Compact indoor dome delivering 5MP video with built-in audio and analytics, ideal for high-traffic areas.
  • EL 24- and 32-Channel Recorders: High-capacity, all-IP recording for small-to-mid-sized deployments with cloud integration.

Moreover, expanded support for ONVIF-compatible third-party cameras allows customers to apply advanced analytics across existing deployments.

Together, these hardware and software enhancements offer a fully integrated video platform—from edge to cloud—helping organizations modernize infrastructure, lower storage costs, and maximize long-term value from their video data.
