Iconic Australian fast-food chain Hungry Jack’s has partnered with Rackspace Technology, a leading end-to-end hybrid multicloud and AI solutions company, to modernise its digital infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, setting the stage for a more agile, secure, and customer-centric digital experience.
As evolving customer expectations reshaped the food and beverage landscape, Hungry Jack’s sought to elevate its omnichannel strategy and deliver innovative, reliable, and engaging digital experiences across every customer touchpoint.

To support these ambitions, Rackspace Technology’s Elastic Engineering team collaborated with Hungry Jack’s to design and deploy an enterprise-grade Azure landing zone using infrastructure as code (IaC). The solution provides a secure, compliant, and automated foundation for digital services — from mobile apps to loyalty programs — enabling faster feature delivery, improved scalability, and reduced costs.
“Rackspace has been proactive from day one, constantly pushing us to improve, not just waiting for us to ask,” said Chad Capiz, Digital Technology Lead at Hungry Jack’s. “We now have the ability to spin up environments as needed — fast, repeatable, and reliable. That’s a game-changer for us.”
Modernising for digital agility
Hungry Jack’s first-generation app experienced rapid growth but soon reached the limits of its legacy infrastructure, which lacked the flexibility and scalability to meet increasing customer demands. Partnering with Rackspace Technology enabled the brand to modernise its architecture and bring greater control, agility, and visibility in-house.
Rackspace’s Elastic Engineering experts worked closely with Hungry Jack’s to build a CI/CD-enabled Azure landing zone that accelerates feature releases and integrates DevSecOps best practices to ensure security checks are embedded in every deployment. They automated infrastructure provisioning and patching, reducing manual errors and increasing uptime, while implementing cost-optimisation measures that leverage Azure’s pay-as-you-go model. The Rackspace team also transferred critical knowledge to Hungry Jack’s internal and offshore teams, strengthening operational maturity and enabling self-sufficiency.
