As organizations face increasingly complex security and risk challenges, leadership with deep expertise across both public and private sectors is becoming essential. In line with this need, Guidepost Solutions has announced the appointment of Caben Chester as Vice President of Protective Services, further strengthening its growing security practice.
With more than two decades of experience, Chester brings a strong background in federal intelligence operations, enterprise risk management, and corporate security leadership. As a result, his appointment is expected to enhance Guidepost’s ability to support clients navigating evolving threat landscapes and complex risk environments.
“Caben’s combination of federal intelligence expertise and senior corporate security leadership makes him a valuable addition to our team,” said Julie Myers Wood, CEO, Guidepost Solutions. “His career spans some of the most demanding environments in both the public and private sectors, and that depth of experience will be immediately impactful to clients navigating complex security, risk, and threat management challenges.”
Prior to joining Guidepost Solutions, Chester held a leadership role at LinkedIn, where he served as Director of Global Security, Risk and Resilience. In this role, he led enterprise-wide initiatives covering threat assessment, intelligence operations, executive protection, and crisis management. Additionally, he oversaw LinkedIn’s 24/7 Global Security Operations Center and chaired the company’s cross-functional Threat Management team, working closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
Before that, Chester served in a similar capacity at Electronic Arts, where he successfully built and scaled global programs focused on intelligence, investigations, business continuity, and workplace violence prevention. Consequently, he played a key role in strengthening organizational resilience across the company’s international operations.
Earlier in his career, Chester spent nearly two decades with U.S. Department of Homeland Security under Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). During this time, he held several senior intelligence roles, including Field Intelligence Director and Chief Intelligence Officer for the Northern California and Nevada region. In these positions, he led intelligence operations across multiple field offices, managed a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), and supported major national events such as Super Bowl 50.
Furthermore, Chester contributed to critical national security efforts earlier in his DHS career by leading the Global Human Smuggling and Trafficking Intelligence Unit in Washington, D.C. His work in disrupting transnational criminal organizations earned him the prestigious Interagency Award, highlighting his impact on global security operations.
Academically, Chester holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice, Law, and Society from American University School of Public Affairs, with a specialization in Policing, Counterterrorism, and Homeland Security. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Cornell University.
Ultimately, Chester’s appointment reflects Guidepost Solutions’ continued investment in top-tier talent to meet rising demand for advanced protective services. By bringing in seasoned leaders with diverse expertise, the firm is positioning itself to deliver more comprehensive and effective security solutions in an increasingly unpredictable global environment.
