Definite, a company building a full-stack AI-native data platform, has raised $10 million in seed funding to expand its product development and go-to-market strategy. The round was led by Costanoa Ventures, with additional backing from Acrew Capital and several strategic angel investors.
The startup aims to address the inefficiencies in today’s data infrastructure, where enterprises often rely on a combination of separate tools—data warehouses such as Snowflake, ETL services like Fivetran, and business intelligence platforms including Looker. Definite consolidates this fragmented setup into a single AI-powered platform, offering a secure data lake, automated pipelines, and intuitive dashboards. By doing so, the company claims its solution is ten times faster and more cost-effective compared to traditional data stacks.

Mike Ritchie, founder and CEO of Definite, emphasized the company’s mission:
“Businesses shouldn’t have to spend months, millions of dollars, and entire engineering teams just to get insights. Definite was designed to simplify analytics by combining open-source foundations with AI-driven interactions, making it possible for teams to get answers instantly—without needing SQL queries.”
Built on petabyte-scale open-source infrastructure, the platform is SOC 2 Type II compliant and provides secure, scalable, and flexible analytics without the limitations of vendor lock-in. Early customers, including Perfect and Meet Alfred, have already adopted the platform to streamline analytics workflows.
George Papadopoulos, CEO of Meet Alfred, noted the speed of implementation:
“We built a data lake in just a few hours and had a high-performance API running within minutes. Definite drastically reduced the complexity of our analytics process.”

Investors view Definite as solving a persistent problem in enterprise data management. John Cowgill, Partner at Costanoa, explained:
“We consistently see startups invest heavily in building modern data stacks, only to face bottlenecks that require a full engineering team to manage. Definite delivers a more elegant approach, giving business teams the ability to run ad hoc analytics quickly, reliably, and at scale.”
Looking ahead, Definite is expanding its team across engineering and enterprise sales. The company operates on a remote-first, high-autonomy model, with a long-term vision of making robust data infrastructure more accessible to organizations shaping the future of business.
