Cohesity, a leader in AI-powered data security, has announced major enhancements to its data protection and security portfolio, further strengthening enterprise resilience in the era of artificial intelligence. The updates were unveiled during the Cohesity Catalyst on Tour event and include new sovereign cloud partnerships, enhanced threat detection capabilities, and simplified offerings designed to make enterprise-grade security accessible to mid-sized organizations. As businesses increasingly rely on AI-driven operations, these advancements aim to help organizations protect sensitive data while accelerating innovation.

At the core of these announcements is Cohesity’s Enterprise AI Resilience strategy, which focuses on safeguarding AI initiatives by combining advanced data protection, security, and intelligence into a unified platform. In addition, the company introduced Cohesity Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), powered by Cyera, which helps organizations discover, classify, and secure sensitive data across cloud, SaaS, and AI-driven environments. Together with enhancements to Cohesity Gaia, the company continues to build an AI-centric ecosystem designed to deliver deeper insights while maintaining strong security controls.

“AI is increasing both the value of data and the risks surrounding it,” says Gustavo Leite, Cohesity’s Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean. “Today, resilience demands the ability to detect threats early, recover data to a clean state, and maintain control in complex environments at the speed and scale that modern businesses require. These updates complement the protection and security foundation that organizations rely on when operationalizing AI. We are also expanding how customers access, implement, and use our platform. As AI becomes fundamental to business, Cohesity delivers a unified platform that protects and secures data while accelerating innovation.”

One of the key pillars of these updates focuses on data protection and sovereignty. As regulatory requirements around data residency and jurisdiction continue to evolve, organizations must ensure their data infrastructure complies with local regulations while maintaining cyber resilience. To address this need, Cohesity is expanding its sovereign cloud ecosystem through new partnerships with AntemetA and Singtel. These collaborations complement Cohesity’s existing initiatives, including its role as a launch partner for AWS European Sovereign Cloud and its certification as a Google Cloud Ready – Regulated and Sovereignty Solutions partner. Additionally, in Canada, Cohesity has partnered with Micrologic to provide sovereign cloud data protection capabilities for regional enterprises.

The second pillar focuses on security and advanced threat detection. As AI technologies introduce new risks, organizations must strengthen their ability to identify malicious activity early and recover from attacks quickly. To support this goal, Cohesity is introducing several upcoming security enhancements. For instance, integrated threat scanning within Cohesity FortKnox will allow customers with digital sovereignty requirements to scan vaulted data for malware and verify clean recovery points before restoration. Similarly, new threat scanning capabilities for Cohesity Data Cloud dark site deployments will enable malware and Indicators of Compromise (IOC) detection in environments that remain completely disconnected from the public internet.

In addition, Cohesity is enhancing its NetBackup Flex Appliance with self-encrypting drives and built-in malware detection. These capabilities protect data at rest and strengthen physical security even if hardware devices are removed or compromised. The company is also introducing a declarative cloud environment recovery capability, which rebuilds cloud infrastructures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This approach accelerates recovery processes, reduces configuration drift, and prevents vulnerabilities from being reintroduced during restoration.

Cohesity also recently expanded its collaboration with Google to introduce new security features. These include a managed service option for Cohesity FortKnox on Google Cloud as well as integrations with Google Threat Intelligence and Google Private Scanning within the Cohesity Data Cloud. Together, these integrations extend cyber vaulting capabilities and allow secure sandbox inspections of backup data before it is restored, helping organizations identify hidden threats early.

To further enhance visibility into sensitive data, Cohesity introduced Cohesity DSPM powered by Cyera. The solution continuously scans and classifies sensitive information across hybrid environments, allowing security teams to prioritize remediation efforts and reduce exposure risks before incidents occur.

Beyond protection and security, Cohesity is also expanding its AI-driven insights capabilities through advancements in Cohesity Gaia. This platform enables organizations to generate intelligence from data already protected within the Cohesity Data Cloud. Through federated semantic search powered by the Model Context Protocol, enterprise AI tools such as Glean can securely access governed backup data. In addition, the new Cohesity Gaia Catalog will allow teams to discover and analyze protected data directly from analytics platforms like Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.

Finally, Cohesity is expanding access to its platform for mid-sized organizations through the introduction of Cohesity Essentials. These simplified packages offer streamlined pricing and deployment models tailored for midmarket businesses. As a result, companies can adopt enterprise-grade cyber resilience and AI-driven data security without the complexity or operational overhead typically associated with large enterprise solutions.

Overall, Cohesity’s latest updates highlight the growing importance of integrated data protection, security, and intelligence as organizations scale their AI initiatives. By combining sovereign cloud capabilities, advanced threat detection, and AI-powered insights into a single platform, Cohesity aims to help businesses innovate faster while maintaining strong data security and resilience.
