Acronis, a global provider of cybersecurity and data protection, has announced a new collaboration with Intel to deliver more efficient, AI-driven threat detection through Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud on AI PCs powered by Intel Core Ultra processors. The integration is designed to strengthen endpoint protection for managed service providers (MSPs), managed security service providers (MSSPs), and enterprise customers, offering advanced defense capabilities without slowing device performance.

The solution leverages Acronis’ AI-based threat detection engine, which continuously monitors and analyzes behavioral patterns to detect sophisticated cyberattacks, including ransomware, zero-day exploits, and fileless malware—threats that frequently evade conventional security tools. When paired with Intel’s hardware acceleration, the platform uses OpenVINO™ technology to offload resource-intensive AI processes, such as behavioral heuristics and anomaly scoring, onto the processor’s neural processing unit (NPU).

According to Acronis, this optimization reduces CPU workloads by as much as 92%, improving system responsiveness, extending battery life, and ensuring that critical AI-driven protections run seamlessly in the background.

As a SaaS-based, multi-tenant platform, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud unifies next-generation anti-malware, data loss prevention (DLP), endpoint and extended detection and response (EDR/XDR), and automated backup and recovery into a single framework. Its design aligns with NIST cybersecurity functions—identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover—giving organizations an integrated, standards-based approach to security management.

Cyber protection must be natively integrated and AI-powered to counter today’s evolving threats,” said Gaidar Magdanurov, President of Acronis. “Working with Intel allows MSPs and IT teams to secure endpoints in real time while maintaining user productivity, eliminating the performance trade-offs of traditional tools.”

“Intel and Acronis together are delivering AI-powered protection directly on the device,” added Carla Rodríguez, Vice President and General Manager, Client Software Enabling at Intel. “By executing complex security tasks on AI PCs with Intel Core Ultra processors, we enable partners like Acronis to provide low-latency, high-performance, and privacy-focused defense.”

The collaboration also addresses longstanding pain points in endpoint protection. Legacy anti-malware solutions often struggle with modern threats, consume excessive resources, and increase support demands, while fragmented security stacks add operational complexity for IT teams. By combining natively integrated cyber protection with Intel’s hardware-driven AI acceleration, the joint offering delivers faster, more reliable defense with reduced system overhead.

With this collaboration, Acronis and Intel aim to set a new benchmark for endpoint security performance and efficiency, offering organizations and service providers a scalable way to stay ahead of today’s rapidly evolving cyberthreat landscape.
