Led by Andreessen Horowitz, the funding will support Treeline’s rebuild of IT, security, and compliance around a software- and AI-native operating model

Treeline, a modern IT operating system provider, has announced a $25 million Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). The company plans to use the new capital to scale its platform, accelerate product innovation, and expand its team as it looks to redefine how IT services are delivered in an increasingly complex digital landscape.

The announcement comes at a time when global IT spending is projected to reach nearly $6 trillion by 2026, highlighting the scale and importance of the market. In the United States alone, more than 40,000 IT managed service providers (MSPs) operate largely on legacy, services-first models. Businesses today are often forced to choose between building costly in-house IT teams or relying on fragmented external providers that depend heavily on manual processes and reactive support systems.

This outdated approach has led to slower execution, inconsistent service quality, rising operational costs, and increased risk exposure. As organizations face growing challenges such as distributed work environments, escalating cybersecurity threats, and complex compliance requirements, the demand for automation and intelligent systems is becoming more urgent.

Treeline is addressing these challenges by introducing what it calls a “Modern IT Operating System”—a centralized software layer designed to replace manual coordination with automation and artificial intelligence. The platform unifies IT, security, and compliance workflows into a single integrated system, enabling continuous background operations while allowing human teams to focus on strategic decision-making and high-impact tasks.

According to Peter Doyle, CEO and Co-Founder of Treeline, the managed services model has remained largely unchanged for decades, relying on reactive ticketing systems and manual coordination. He emphasized that this approach creates inefficiencies and limits scalability, adding that Treeline was built to modernize IT infrastructure using software and AI to deliver greater reliability and efficiency.

Treeline’s platform integrates multiple core functions into a unified system. On the IT side, it automates employee onboarding and offboarding, manages devices and identities, and resolves technical support issues. Its security capabilities include endpoint protection, vulnerability management, insider threat detection, and support for security questionnaires. In compliance, the platform manages readiness processes, supports audit preparation, and helps organizations determine relevant frameworks and regulatory requirements.

The company reports significant performance improvements driven by its AI-powered tools and agents.  – Treeline claims it can resolve or augment 98% of customer-submitted requests, increase employee onboarding speed by tenfold from 20 minutes to just 2 minutes, and reduce error rates by 95% for tickets handled entirely within the platform.

Customer feedback also highlights the platform’s impact on operational maturity and scalability. Richard Cho, Head of People at Luma, noted that Treeline enables organizations to build infrastructure typically seen in much larger companies, while also improving communication and responsiveness.

From an investor perspective, Andreessen Horowitz sees Treeline as part of a broader shift driven by advances in artificial intelligence. Joe Schmidt, Partner at the firm, stated that AI is enabling a fundamental rethinking of how IT services are delivered, positioning Treeline to define a new category where software intelligence underpins IT, security, and compliance functions.

As enterprises continue to modernize their technology stacks, Treeline’s approach reflects a growing trend toward integrated, AI-driven platforms that prioritize automation, scalability, and resilience. The company’s latest funding round signals strong confidence in its vision to transform IT operations into a more efficient and future-ready system.
