ScanSource, a leading hybrid distributor that connects devices to the cloud, announced the creation of its Integrated Solutions and Services group. This new division is charged with using solutions and services to better empower hardware VARs to capture added value around the hardware they sell. In conjunction with this initiative, ScanSource also announced the acquisition of Advantix, a VAR-focused managed connectivity experience provider, MCx, specialized in wireless enablement solutions. This acquisition builds on a partnership of more than five years, during which ScanSource has supported hardware VARs in growing their mobility businesses. Advantix helps partners develop mobility solutions and build recurring revenue streams. It also increases margins while driving further value to the end-users.
Advantix was established in 2001 in Frisco, Texas, and is dedicated to helping hardware VARs with ScanSource offer multi-carrier and single-carrier solutions that allow end-users flexibility and simplicity when trying to manage their fleet of wireless devices.
“The launch of our Integrated Solutions and Services group, paired with the Advantix acquisition, opens up the ability for ScanSource hardware VARs to incorporate connectivity to hardware, software, and services to bring value to hardware sales, enabling complete hybrid solutions. More solutions and services mean higher margins for VARs and deeper relationships with end users,” said Tony Sorrentino, President of ScanSource Specialty Technologies. “Advantix has proven expertise in enabling hardware partners to generate recurring revenues, and it is going to be crucial for our partners who want to append services to the sale of their hardware.”

Tony Rivers, CEO of Peak Technologies, said, “ScanSource and Advantix have been long-time partners to Peak Technologies. As a Systems Integrator, end-to-end mobility services are mission-critical for our customers, and having a single provider to assist us will enable us to deliver even better service.”
Ansley Hoke, a 22-year veteran of ScanSource, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Integrated Solutions and Services and will lead the new group. Bringing nearly two decades of channel and hardware VAR community experience to this position, Hoke held previous leadership positions with ScanSource in the roles of Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, along with leadership positions in Sales and Supplier teams.
Natasha Royer Coons and Nathan Brown will become the Co-Presidents of Advantix, now a ScanSource company.
“We are excited to join the ScanSource team,” said Coons. “By adding value to the hardware ScanSource sells, we can help our partners increase revenue and reduce complexity when integrating solutions for their customers.”
