SEALSQ Corp, a leading provider of semiconductors, PKI, and post-quantum security solutions, has expanded its partnership with Landis+Gyr to enhance cybersecurity across Landis+Gyr’s North American manufacturing operations.
As part of the collaboration, Landis+Gyr is adopting SEALSQ’s IneS Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solution to embed digital certificates into electric and gas meters during production. This approach mirrors previous successful deployments in Asia and Europe, including a recent project securing 30 million utility meters for TEPCO in Japan. The partnership also builds on SEALSQ’s ongoing support in the UK, where VaultIC secure microcontrollers are integrated into over one million gas meters annually. These initiatives strengthen Landis+Gyr’s end-to-end security framework for grid-edge devices while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.

With the growing interaction of edge devices such as inverters and EV chargers, securing these connections has become critical. Landis+Gyr’s intelligent grid-edge device portfolio provides multiple secure communication options, featuring end-to-end encryption at every network and device interaction point.
SEALSQ’s IneS PKI solution is engineered for flexibility, supporting offline, distributed, and as-a-Service deployment models. In offline settings, it allows secure credential management and provisioning for IoT devices and critical infrastructure without continuous connectivity. For distributed applications, it provides horizontal scalability with decentralized certificate issuance and lifecycle management, ideal for global smart grid ecosystems. As a cloud-native service, the solution delivers automation, API integration, and scalability, helping utilities meet evolving regulatory requirements. This tri-modal capability ensures robust cybersecurity and compliance across a range of deployment scenarios.
