Under this strategic partnership, ISC2’s globally recognized Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) certification, including self-paced training and exams, will be offered as part of NCSA’s efforts to create clear career pathways into cybersecurity and elevate overall industry competencies. Over the next two years, ISC2 and NCSA will offer 10,000 training and certification opportunities for individuals seeking to build or advance their cybersecurity skills or pursue a career in the field. This initiative will support NCSA’s mission to elevate the cyber hygiene of organizations and professionalize the workforce.
With growing recognition of the critical importance of cybersecurity, the Royal Thai Government has introduced new legislation to strengthen protections for organizations across the country. As Thailand’s cybersecurity market is projected to grow at a 14.10% CAGR, the demand for skilled professionals is rising significantly. Together with ISC2, NCSA is at the forefront of addressing this need, working to develop a robust workforce capable of supporting businesses and safeguarding the nation’s growing digital infrastructure.
“This partnership with NCSA is a pivotal step in our global efforts to build a resilient cybersecurity workforce,” said Tara Wisniewski, ISC2 EVP of Advocacy, Global Markets, and Member Engagement. “By joining forces with NCSA, we’re not only addressing the immediate need for more cybersecurity professionals in Thailand but also creating clear pathways for individuals to enter the field and enhancing overall cyber resilience. As threats evolve, the need for a robust cyber workforce becomes increasingly critical. This initiative will attract new entrants into the profession and give aspiring cybersecurity professionals in Thailand the foundations to succeed. We look forward to working closely with NCSA to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity capabilities over the coming years.”
This collaboration with ISC2 marks a significant milestone in our shared commitment to building a resilient cybersecurity workforce in Thailand,” said AVM. Amorn Chomchey, NCSA Secretary-General. “Through our ongoing capacity-building initiatives, such as training programs and partnerships with universities, we are empowering the next generation of cybersecurity professionals in Thailand. By working closely with ISC2, we are creating clear pathways for individuals to gain the skills and knowledge needed to safeguard our critical infrastructure. As cyber threats grow in complexity, it’s crucial that we build a resilient, skilled workforce that can respond effectively. Together, we aim to enhance Thailand’s cyber readiness and strengthen our global cybersecurity partnerships.”
ISC2 has been increasing efforts to close the rapidly expanding 3.37M person-wide cyber workforce gap in the APAC region. Launched in 2022, the CC certification has seen over 15,000 candidates in APAC earn the certification, with more than 112,000 individuals signing up as ISC2 Candidates, highlighting a growing interest in cybersecurity careers. By offering the CC certification as part of NCSA’s workforce capacity-building initiatives, ISC2 aims to further support and cultivate a new generation of cybersecurity professionals entering the field.
ISC2’s CC program is open to individuals from all backgrounds, including those with no prior cybersecurity experience, graduates from non-technical backgrounds, and individuals seeking career changes. According to ISC2’s APAC Hiring Managers report, cybersecurity certifications are the most important attribute that 32% of managers look for when hiring. By offering accessible certification opportunities, the CC program helps bridge the workforce and skills shortage, empowering a new generation of professionals to secure their first cybersecurity role.
Established in 2019, NCSA is already making significant contributions to protecting the nation’s cyberspace and ensuring the security of its digital ecosystem. NCSA announced a major initiative to train 10,000 “cyberwarriors” in collaboration with over 20 universities, providing courses and internships that focus on cloud security and practical skills. Additionally, the NCSA’s National Cyber Academy has trained over 4,000 participants, offering certifications to equip new and seasoned professionals for the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
