As cyber threats increasingly originate from exposed internet infrastructure, demand is rising for real time visibility and intelligence to help organizations detect and stop attacks before they escalate. Censys has raised $70 million in new funding to accelerate development of its AI driven platform, marking a significant step in the evolution of modern security operations. The Censys Internet intelligence funding round includes a $40 million Series D investment alongside $30 million in debt financing, underscoring strong investor confidence in the company’s role within the cybersecurity ecosystem.

The round was led by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, with participation from Decibel Partners, Greylock Partners, GV, and Intel Capital. The funding will support the expansion of AI powered capabilities on Censys’s recently launched Internet intelligence platform.

The Censys Internet intelligence funding comes at a time when internet facing assets have become a primary entry point for cyberattacks. As adversaries increasingly use artificial intelligence to automate and accelerate attacks, organizations are facing shorter remediation windows and greater pressure to act quickly. This has created a growing need for continuous, real time intelligence to monitor internet exposure, secure supply chains, and protect critical infrastructure.

Censys provides visibility into global internet assets, enabling security teams to identify vulnerabilities, track adversary activity, and proactively defend against threats. The platform is widely used by enterprises, government agencies, and infrastructure providers, with more than 300,000 security practitioners relying on its data. Notably, organizations representing over half of the Fortune 500 use Censys as part of their security and threat intelligence strategies.

“AI is transforming every aspect of security operations, but its ultimate success will be fundamentally shaped by the quality and timeliness of the data available to it,” said Zakir Durumeric, Founder and CEO of Censys. “Censys is positioned to drive this transformation with our leading intelligence to make AI actionable at global scale. This investment will enable faster innovation and global expansion.”

Investors highlighted the company’s strong positioning in a rapidly evolving market where data driven security is becoming foundational to enterprise defense strategies.

“Censys is widely recognized by their customers as THE authoritative source for Internet intelligence,” said Pete D. Chung, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital. “We believe its unmatched visibility, combined with a clear strategy to build AI-driven solutions on top of its platform, positions Censys to be a foundational pillar of the modern security ecosystem.”

The Censys Internet intelligence funding signals a broader shift toward AI powered security platforms that prioritize real time visibility and proactive defense. As organizations continue to face increasingly sophisticated and automated threats, investments in intelligence driven solutions are expected to play a critical role in strengthening cyber resilience and enabling faster, more informed decision making.
