As ransomware attacks continue to grow in complexity and frequency, cybersecurity providers are investing in new technologies to strengthen early detection and prevention across enterprise environments. A new partnership centered on the RansomSnare platform aims to help organizations detect and stop ransomware activity before it disrupts operations or compromises sensitive data.
Pondurance, a managed detection and response provider known for delivering threat monitoring and incident response services, announced a strategic partnership with Security Snares, a cybersecurity company focused on advanced ransomware prevention. The collaboration will bring the RansomSnare platform into Pondurance security operations, enabling earlier detection of ransomware threats and improving response capabilities for organizations facing increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks.
The RansomSnare platform, developed by Security Snares, is built on a microsensor based architecture designed to identify and stop previously unknown ransomware variants before encryption can occur. Unlike traditional signature based security tools, which rely on known malware patterns, the platform focuses on identifying suspicious behavioral indicators associated with ransomware activity. This approach enables organizations to disrupt attacks earlier in the threat lifecycle, reducing the risk of data loss, system outages, and operational disruption.
Through the partnership, Pondurance plans to integrate the RansomSnare platform into its managed detection and response environment, strengthening its ability to identify emerging ransomware activity in real time. The technology monitors for early indicators of compromise and provides actionable alerts that allow security teams to respond before malicious encryption, data exfiltration, or destructive activity occurs.
Doug Howard, CEO of Pondurance, emphasized the growing challenges organizations face as ransomware techniques continue to evolve. “Ransomware continues to evolve faster than traditional detection and response approaches,” said Doug Howard, CEO of Pondurance. “By partnering with Security Snares and integrating their RansomSnare microsensor technology, we are strengthening our ability to identify ransomware behavior earlier in the attack lifecycle, helping customers reduce downtime, limit operational impact, and prevent malicious encryption.”
Security Snares designed the platform to complement existing cybersecurity infrastructure rather than replace it. By adding behavioral monitoring through lightweight microsensors, the system enhances security operations centers with earlier signals of malicious activity. This allows incident response teams to act quickly before attackers are able to encrypt files or disrupt business processes.
Robert Capinjola, Co Founder and CEO of Security Snares, said the collaboration will help scale the company’s technology through an experienced MDR provider. “We built RansomSnare to stop ransomware before damage is done,” said Robert Capinjola, Co Founder and CEO of Security Snares. “Partnering with Pondurance allows us to extend the reach of our technology through an experienced MDR provider that understands how to operationalize early detection and proactive defense at scale.”
As ransomware continues to remain one of the most disruptive threats in the cyber threat landscape, partnerships that combine detection technology with managed security expertise are becoming increasingly important. The integration of the RansomSnare platform into Pondurance services highlights a broader industry shift toward detecting cyberattacks earlier in the attack chain, helping organizations reduce the financial and operational impact of ransomware incidents.
