As cyber threats targeting critical infrastructure continue to escalate, Integer Technologies has entered into a strategic partnership with the South Carolina Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Program to enhance statewide cybersecurity resilience. Through a newly formalized Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), Integer joins the initiative as an active participant, contributing to intelligence sharing, advanced cybersecurity services, and coordinated incident response efforts.
As part of this collaboration, the program operates under the leadership of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, bringing together a unified task force of state and federal agencies. These include the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Secret Service, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and the South Carolina National Guard. Together, these entities aim to protect all 16 critical infrastructure sectors across the state by delivering no-cost cybersecurity services, curated threat intelligence, and a centralized response framework for major cyber incidents.
As cyberattacks grow more sophisticated, collaboration between public and private sectors has become essential. Therefore, Integer’s participation strengthens the program’s ability to proactively defend critical systems while improving operational readiness. By integrating with government-led cybersecurity efforts, the company is helping build a more coordinated and resilient defense ecosystem.
“Cyber threats targeting critical infrastructure demand unprecedented collaboration between the public and private sectors,” said Scott Thompson, cyber engineering manager at Integer. “Our partnership with the SC CIC Program sets a new standard for operational readiness. By integrating seamlessly with state and federal experts, we are delivering the proactive innovation and intelligence sharing required to protect the systems South Carolina’s citizens and economy rely on.”
Moreover, as an early participant in the Defense Industrial Base sector of the program, Integer gains access to shared intelligence and cybersecurity resources while contributing its own expertise. The company will also appoint a dedicated Cyber Liaison Officer (CLO), who will serve as the primary connection for real-time threat intelligence and facilitate two-way information sharing with SC CIC partners. Consequently, this approach ensures timely exchange of critical data to support statewide defense and incident response efforts.
In addition, the SC CIC Task Force, headquartered at SLED in Columbia, will provide ongoing cybersecurity services, intelligence, and operational support as outlined in the agreement. At the same time, all shared information will remain protected under the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act and the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, ensuring confidentiality and secure collaboration.
“The defense of our critical infrastructure cannot exist in silos because adversaries do not respect the boundaries between public and private networks,” said Duke Hartman, Integer co-founder and chief executive officer. “Securing our vital systems requires the agility and innovation of private industry fused with the intelligence and reach of state and federal agencies. This partnership with the state of South Carolina’s SC CIC Program under the administration of Governor Henry McMaster and Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette is a blueprint for how we must operationalize that public-private synergy to stay ahead of sophisticated threats.”
Ultimately, this partnership highlights a growing trend toward integrated cybersecurity strategies that combine government oversight with private-sector innovation. By fostering real-time intelligence sharing and coordinated response capabilities, Integer and the SC CIC Program are setting a new standard for protecting critical infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.
