C1 continues to expand its role in modernizing education technology environments, and most recently, the company strengthened its long-term partnership with Cucamonga School District. Through this collaboration, the district significantly improved its cybersecurity posture, upgraded its data center infrastructure, and enhanced wireless connectivity across campuses. As educational institutions increasingly depend on digital learning, secure and resilient IT environments have become mission-critical. Therefore, this partnership reflects how technology providers and school systems can work together to build future-ready education ecosystems.

Cucamonga School District serves roughly 2,400 students across multiple schools in Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario, California. The district leadership recognized early that rising cybersecurity threats, growing digital classroom requirements, and online testing demands required a stronger technology backbone. At the same time, the district operates with a relatively small IT team. As a result, leaders needed a trusted partner capable of designing scalable solutions while also planning for long-term growth. C1 stepped in to address these needs through its Infrastructure and Security Experience framework.

As part of the transformation, C1 helped deploy a Dell VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure to modernize the district’s data center operations. In addition, the district implemented a Dell PowerProtect appliance combined with a cyber recovery vault. These technologies help protect critical data from ransomware and other cyber threats by isolating sensitive data and enabling secure recovery. Modern cyber recovery vaults typically provide layered protection, air-gapped isolation, and analytics to ensure organizations can restore trusted data after an attack.

Alongside data protection improvements, C1 also helped modernize network connectivity across classrooms and outdoor learning environments. The district rolled out a Wi-Fi 6 wireless refresh and deployed nearly 250 access points across indoor and outdoor spaces. Consequently, students and teachers now benefit from faster, more reliable connectivity, which supports hybrid learning, digital collaboration, and future smart-campus initiatives.

District leadership emphasized the value of the partnership and the strategic guidance C1 provides.

“C1 asks the right questions and brings forward options and insights that help us plan effectively,” said Bobby Applegate, Director of Information Technology at Cucamonga School District. “With a secure isolated cyber vault and our modernized infrastructure in place, we feel more confident and prepared than ever before.”

At the same time, C1 leadership highlighted the district’s forward-looking approach to technology modernization and student protection.

“Cucamonga School District exemplifies what it means to be a forward-thinking educational organization,” said Zeina Ammar, Senior Vice President of Public Education at C1. “Their leadership is deeply committed to protecting students, empowering staff, and building a technology environment that is secure, scalable, and ready for the future. We are honored to be their trusted partner as they continue elevating the learning experience for their community.”

Beyond cybersecurity and infrastructure upgrades, C1 also supported broader network modernization efforts across newly remodeled buildings. These upgrades included large-scale switching deployments and ongoing advisory support as the district evaluates campus safety technologies and access-control modernization.

Looking ahead, this collaboration highlights a broader trend across education: institutions are shifting from reactive IT management toward proactive cyber resilience and digital transformation strategies. As schools adopt more connected technologies, cloud applications, and digital learning tools, cybersecurity and infrastructure modernization will remain essential foundations for student success and operational continuity.

Ultimately, C1’s partnership with Cucamonga School District demonstrates how strategic technology investments can help educational organizations stay secure, agile, and prepared for the next generation of digital learning challenges.
