Rackspace Technology and Rubrik have launched the UK Sovereign Cyber Recovery Cloud, a new ransomware recovery solution designed to help UK public sector organizations and regulated enterprises protect and restore critical workloads within hours of an attack. With this launch, both companies are responding to growing demand for stronger digital sovereignty, faster cyber recovery, and tighter control over sensitive data.

As the UK moves deeper into a decisive period for digital sovereignty, organizations face mounting pressure to improve resilience and recovery standards. At the same time, new legislation is pushing institutions to strengthen how they manage cyber risk, respond to attacks, and maintain control over data. Against that backdrop, Rackspace and Rubrik have introduced a solution built specifically to meet those demands while keeping recovery operations fully within UK borders.

The new offering provides a dedicated and automated clean room recovery environment that stays entirely inside the UK. More importantly, it includes pre-built runbooks that are ready for immediate activation when a ransomware incident occurs. This approach allows organizations to move quickly during a crisis rather than losing valuable time building recovery workflows from scratch.

To deliver this service, the companies are combining Rubrik Security Cloud with Rackspace UK Sovereign Services. Together, these technologies create a secure and isolated recovery environment that keeps sensitive data, critical metadata, and support operations strictly under UK jurisdiction. In addition, the environment remains offline from the outside world until a specific ransomware recovery event triggers activation. As a result, organizations gain a stronger layer of isolation at the very moment they need it most.

The UK Sovereign Cyber Recovery Cloud includes several important capabilities. First, it delivers true digital sovereignty by ensuring that hardware, data, and administrative access remain within the UK. This structure helps isolate organizations from foreign influence and reinforces local control over critical recovery operations. Second, it supports rapid cyber recovery through advanced automation, reducing restoration timelines from days or even weeks to just hours. That reduction can make a major difference for public services and highly regulated operations that cannot afford long disruptions.

In addition, the solution is designed to support regulatory alignment. Specifically, it helps organizations align with the National Cyber Security Centre’s Cyber Assessment Framework and the UK’s mandatory 24-hour breach reporting requirements. This makes the platform especially relevant for entities that must balance strong operational resilience with increasing compliance obligations.

Another key element is continuous operations monitoring. Rackspace’s security operations center uses Rubrik technology to monitor SaaS cloud and on-premises applications around the clock. Therefore, teams can identify anomalies faster and respond more effectively before an issue grows into a larger crisis.

“2026 is the year where control becomes the new foundation of trust and truly having control over where our data is accessed and located,” said Rick Martire, General Manager, Sovereign Services at Rackspace UK. “By partnering with Rubrik, we are providing UK enterprises with the autonomy they need to recover from cyber threats while meeting the highest standards of digital sovereignty.”

“Our joint solution isn’t just about where data is stored – it’s about who has the authority to protect and restore it,” added David Kosman, Vice President, Global Managed Service Providers at Rubrik. “For UK public sector bodies and regulated enterprises, today’s announcement is a major leap forward in national cyber resilience. The evolution of our close partnership with Rackspace – which began with our strategic collaboration to deliver isolated recovery environments – continues to support enterprises that need strong security and compliance.”

Overall, this launch strengthens both companies’ position in sovereign cyber resilience. By combining isolated recovery, UK-only jurisdiction, automation, and compliance-focused design, Rackspace and Rubrik are offering a solution that helps regulated organizations recover faster while maintaining control, trust, and national data sovereignty.
