“Our identity-based approach stands out by enabling our customers to quickly move from policy simulation to enforcement, building trust and confidence in the platform”

Elisity also announced it has secured investments from Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), a leading growth equity firm renowned for its investments in global, category-defining, technology companies, and Chevron Technology Ventures (CTV), Chevron’s venture investing unit. Elisity previously raised a $37 million Series B funding round led by global software investor Insight Partners in April 2024.

“With the support of these investors, Elisity now has backing that paves the way for accelerated market adoption and scale,” said James Winebrenner, CEO of Elisity.

“We’ve long believed that microsegmentation should be a core component of enterprise IT/OT security, but we questioned whether it could be. After all, microsegmentation has historically been a hard technology to operationalize. But seeing is believing, and our skepticism turned to belief after in-depth discussions with CISOs who had put Elisity’s platform to the test. Moving forward, we believe Elisity is uniquely positioned to change the narrative around microsegmentation and transform how organizations secure their most important assets,” said Morgan Gerlak, Partner at TCV.

Microsegmentation reduces the blast radius of ransomware, malware, and active attackers – potentially preventing lateral movement risk by up to 85%. Its adoption has expanded into microservices architectures, public clouds, operational technology (OT) environments, and even the application layer. As industrial and critical infrastructure companies transition from legacy physical segmentation to meet IEC 62443 requirements, Elisity anticipates even stronger momentum as healthcare organizations prepare for new HIPAA Security Rule mandates requiring network segmentation in 2025. Elisity’s innovation positions it as a cutting-edge Zero Trust network microsegmentation solution to enhance existing infrastructure investments while delivering state-of-the-art protection.

Elisity is the only platform that enables organizations to confidently achieve least-privilege access faster than any other solution on the market, averaging 14 days from deployment to first active segmentation policy enforced. Elisity’s innovative Zero Trust microsegmentation solution has gained double-digit year-over-year customer traction in 2024, with a 5x surge in active policies in the last quarter of 2024. Organizations on average, implement and enforce over 1,000 active segmentation policies for protection faster than they thought possible. Elisity expanded its customer base to include several Fortune 500 companies with over 83% of these customers successfully implementing critical security policies across their entire infrastructure within 90 days. This breakthrough has led to remarkable success stories in clinical Healthcare, and industrial sectors such as Pharma, Electronics, Manufacturing, and Oil & Gas.

“Our identity-based approach stands out by enabling our customers to quickly move from policy simulation to enforcement, building trust and confidence in the platform,” added Winebrenner, CEO of Elisity. “By combining our ‘single source of truth’ on all assets connected to the enterprise network with advanced AI, we’re delivering real-time, adaptive security policies that address the needs of modern enterprises. As we look ahead to 2025, we aim to continue to help organizations implement Zero Trust architectures across their IT, IoT, and OT environments.”

Other achievements for Elisity in 2024 include:

  • Recognition in the Forrester Wave™ Microsegmentation Solutions, Q3 2024 evaluation as a “Strong Performer” for its ability to deliver adaptive security while seamlessly integrating with existing infrastructure.
  • Elisity customer, Main Line Health, received the 2024 CSO Award for cybersecurity excellence.
  • Launch of the new Elisity Academy with certifications and training programs, empowering customers to efficiently transition from policy simulation to enforcement.

“Zero trust microsegmentation has emerged as the critical next step for enterprises who’ve matured their endpoint security programs but still face expanding attack surfaces across IT, IoT, OT and IoMT environments,” said Ed Amoroso, CEO of TAG Infosphere. “What’s particularly significant is how modern microsegmentation platforms have eliminated the traditional barriers to implementation, enabling organizations to achieve comprehensive protection without the complexity that hindered previous approaches.”
