As enterprises rapidly explore the potential of AI-driven automation, Sycamore has secured $65 million in a seed funding round to develop what it describes as an operating system for autonomous enterprise AI. The round was led by Coatue and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Abstract Ventures, Dell Technologies Capital, 8VC, Fellows Fund, and E14 Fund, along with a group of angel investors.
As AI agents evolve into a transformative force in enterprise computing, organizations are increasingly seeking ways to deploy them securely and at scale. However, despite advancements in AI models that can reason and act autonomously, many enterprises still lack the infrastructure required to manage these systems effectively. Therefore, Sycamore is positioning itself to fill this gap by building a foundational platform that enables safe and scalable AI agent deployment.
Moreover, the company is already collaborating with Fortune 500 organizations to deploy autonomous AI agents, signaling strong early adoption of its vision. By focusing on operational control, security, and scalability, Sycamore aims to redefine how enterprises integrate AI into their workflows.
At the core of this initiative is Sycamore’s Agent Operating System, which provides a full lifecycle platform for enterprise AI. It allows organizations to discover, build, deploy, observe, and continuously evolve AI agents within a unified environment. As a result, enterprises can manage complex AI ecosystems more efficiently while maintaining governance and oversight.
In addition, the platform emphasizes trust by design, ensuring that AI agents earn autonomy through demonstrated reliability. Each operation is isolated, auditable, and governed from the outset, enabling organizations to maintain strict control over AI-driven processes. Furthermore, Sycamore introduces adaptive system generation, allowing users to define their intent in natural language while the platform automatically generates production-ready systems, including applications, integrations, and agents tailored to enterprise environments.
Another key capability lies in continuous improvement, where AI agents learn from outcomes and refine their performance over time. This approach not only enhances efficiency but also captures institutional knowledge across deployments. At the same time, the platform enables collective intelligence by connecting data, workflows, and expertise across teams, supporting coordinated multi-agent execution.
“Sri is one of the few founders who has built enterprise platforms at true global scale. Sycamore sits at the intersection of two major shifts: AI adoption and agent security. We believe this team is uniquely positioned to define the category,” said Raviraj Jain, Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners.
“Every boardroom conversation today includes AI agents, but the platform to support them isn’t there yet. Enterprises need a trust and governance layer before autonomy can scale. We call this a BFI (Big F Idea) at Coatue: a market that expands the entire category. We see Sycamore as that foundational platform,” said Thomas Laffont, Co-founder of Coatue.
“Every enterprise system today is built for humans doing the work. The next generation of enterprise software will be autonomous, continuously learning, and adaptive. Sycamore is building the operating system for that future, with a foundation of trust, security, and control,” said Sri Viswanath, Founder and CEO of Sycamore.
Ultimately, Sycamore’s funding marks a significant step toward building the infrastructure needed for the next phase of enterprise AI. By combining automation, governance, and continuous learning, the company is aiming to create a secure and scalable foundation for autonomous AI systems in modern organizations.
