As AI driven threats accelerate across enterprise environments, cybersecurity leaders are racing to improve how vulnerabilities are discovered and mitigated before exploitation. Trend Micro has announced a strategic collaboration between its TrendAI platform and Anthropic to enhance AI powered vulnerability detection and risk mitigation. TrendAI and Anthropic advance AI powered vulnerability detection by supporting the expanded deployment of Claude Opus 4.7 for security research, enabling organizations to identify and address exploitable weaknesses faster.
The partnership comes as enterprises face a growing imbalance between rapid vulnerability discovery and slower remediation timelines. By combining advanced AI models with real world threat intelligence, the collaboration aims to help organizations prioritize risks more effectively and reduce exposure before attacks occur. TrendAI is also participating in Anthropic’s Cyber Verification Program, which enables secure and responsible use of frontier AI systems for defensive purposes.
“AI is dramatically accelerating vulnerability discovery, but remediation timelines haven’t kept pace. Our collaboration with Anthropic ensures that organizations get the best vulnerability threat intelligence and the ability to reduce risk across their environments before attacks take place,” said Rachel Jin, Chief Platform and Business Officer and Head of TrendAI.
A key component of this initiative is AESIR, TrendAI’s internal AI powered security research platform launched in 2025. AESIR leverages Claude Opus 4.7 to simulate attacker behavior, analyzing complex software environments to determine which vulnerabilities are reachable, controllable, and exploitable. This approach enables the system to autonomously discover and validate real world threats at scale, significantly improving the efficiency of security research.
Insights generated by AESIR are integrated into Trend Micro Vision One, which helps organizations operationalize findings by mapping attack paths, prioritizing risks, and applying mitigation strategies such as virtual patching. This is particularly valuable in production environments where vulnerabilities are often identified after deployment and immediate remediation may not be feasible.
The collaboration also addresses a rapidly expanding threat landscape. According to TrendAI’s State of AI Security Report, the number of AI related vulnerabilities could reach between 2,800 and 3,600 CVEs in 2026 alone. AESIR has already contributed to identifying and patching critical vulnerabilities across major platforms, including those developed by NVIDIA and Tencent, as well as emerging agentic frameworks.
TrendAI and Anthropic advance AI powered vulnerability detection by combining code level intelligence with contextual risk prioritization, allowing organizations to focus on vulnerabilities that pose real world impact. This capability is becoming increasingly important as AI systems grow more complex and interconnected, creating new attack surfaces across hybrid environments.
By integrating advanced AI reasoning with actionable security workflows, the partnership highlights a shift toward proactive cybersecurity strategies. As AI continues to transform both attack methods and defense mechanisms, collaborations like this will play a critical role in helping enterprises stay ahead of evolving threats while maintaining operational resilience.
