The exposure management company Tenable has announced the launch of Tenable Hexa AI, a new agentic AI engine designed to enhance its Tenable One Exposure Management Platform. The solution aims to automate complex security workflows and convert exposure intelligence into coordinated action, helping organizations proactively reduce cyber risk.

The announcement comes at a time when the cybersecurity landscape is becoming increasingly complex. The rapid rise of AI-powered attacks, faster vulnerability discovery, and the widespread adoption of AI-driven tools have significantly expanded the attack surface. At the same time, security teams must manage a growing mix of human operators, automated systems, and AI agents across fragmented environments, making coordination more difficult and often leaving teams stuck in reactive security cycles.

Tenable Hexa AI is built to address these challenges by acting as an orchestration layer within the Tenable One platform. Leveraging Tenable’s Exposure Data Fabric a comprehensive repository of contextualized exposure data the engine analyzes how vulnerabilities, assets, identities, configurations, and AI systems interact across an organization’s environment. This deep context enables the platform to prioritize risks, validate real-time conditions, and coordinate remediation actions at machine speed.

According to Eric Doerr, Chief Product Officer at Tenable, the shrinking gap between vulnerability discovery and exploitation has made proactive, automated security essential. He noted that Tenable Hexa AI combines intelligent orchestration with rich contextual data to automate complex processes and neutralize risks before they can be exploited.

The platform is already demonstrating operational benefits for early users. Tarek Houni, Head of Exposure Management at a France-based global manufacturing company, highlighted efficiency gains achieved through automation, noting that tasks such as asset tagging previously time-consuming can now be handled quickly, freeing teams to focus on higher-value security activities like threat investigation and remediation.

Tenable positions Hexa AI as part of a broader shift toward agentic AI in cybersecurity. As organizations adopt more interconnected systems and AI technologies, exposure management is emerging as a critical approach to maintaining security across IT, cloud, identity, operational technology (OT), and AI environments Within this framework, Tenable Hexa AI enables automated workflow execution across the entire attack surface. It supports the creation of custom AI agents tailored to specific organizational needs, while also offering pre-built agents to handle routine processes such as asset management, reporting, and system health checks. These capabilities are designed to reduce manual effort, improve operational efficiency, and ensure consistent risk reduction.

Currently, Tenable Hexa AI is available through a private program for select customers and partners, with general availability expected later in 2026. The company also plans to showcase the new solution at the RSA 2026, where attendees can see demonstrations of its capabilities in action With this launch, Tenable is reinforcing its focus on shifting security operations from reactive defense to proactive, intelligence-driven risk management powered by AI.
