Bitdefender has announced the launch of GravityZone Extended Email Security, a new solution designed to unify email and endpoint protection within a single platform. With this release, the company aims to help organizations and managed service providers (MSPs) strengthen defenses against increasingly sophisticated email-based cyber threats. Moreover, the solution adopts an Integrated Cloud Email Security (ICES) approach, ensuring continuous protection both before and after email delivery.

As cybercriminals continue to exploit email as a primary attack vector, businesses are facing rising risks from phishing, business email compromise (BEC), ransomware, impersonation, and insider threats. In fact, industry data highlights that BEC-related losses surpassed $6 billion in 2024, while a significant percentage of security professionals report a surge in such attacks. Therefore, organizations must move beyond traditional security models to address evolving threats more effectively.

Unlike legacy solutions that focus mainly on pre-delivery filtering, Bitdefender’s new offering provides a more comprehensive approach. Specifically, GravityZone Extended Email Security combines secure email gateway (SEG) filtering with API-based post-delivery protection. As a result, it not only blocks threats before they reach inboxes but also continuously monitors and remediates them after delivery. This dual-layer defense helps eliminate visibility gaps across the entire email attack chain.

In addition, the solution is fully integrated into the GravityZone platform, which already delivers unified security, risk analytics, and compliance capabilities. Consequently, organizations can extend protection seamlessly from endpoints to inboxes without adding complexity. The platform also enables rapid deployment, allowing businesses to achieve faster time-to-value.

Another key advantage lies in its ability to consolidate security tools. By unifying email and endpoint protection, the solution reduces operational silos and minimizes the workload on security teams. Furthermore, automated detection and response capabilities improve efficiency by reducing manual intervention and accelerating threat mitigation.

At the same time, the platform leverages artificial intelligence and real-time threat intelligence to detect and block advanced attacks. Continuous monitoring ensures that suspicious emails are identified and quarantined quickly, thereby reducing dwell time and limiting user exposure. This proactive approach significantly enhances overall security posture.

Additionally, GravityZone Extended Email Security is designed for scalability. It supports multi-tenant environments, making it ideal for MSPs managing multiple clients. Centralized management, consistent policy enforcement, and streamlined workflows further simplify operations across distributed infrastructures.

Deployment flexibility is another important feature. Organizations can implement the solution across Microsoft 365, hybrid setups, and other diverse environments. With support for both API-based and combined deployment models, businesses can tailor the solution to their specific infrastructure needs.

“Cybercriminals continue to rely on email as a primary attack vector, requiring organizations to adopt stronger, more integrated defenses that reduce risk without adding complexity,” said Andrei Florescu, president and general manager of Bitdefender Business Solutions Group. “GravityZone Extended Email Security eliminates visibility and detection gaps across the full email attack chain, delivering powerful inbox protection before and after delivery to help organizations and MSPs stay ahead as attacks evolve.”

Overall, Bitdefender’s latest launch reflects a growing industry shift toward integrated cybersecurity solutions. By combining email and endpoint protection into a unified platform, the company is enabling organizations to better defend against modern threats while improving efficiency and scalability.
